I was reading the carrier thread and noticed a lot of you are going with the hotsling. I really wanted one, and I told this to my mother-in-law because she was looking for a good present to get us. She happens to be a pretty good seamstress as well, and decided to make one instead. I now have a homemade hotsling that I think looks pretty similar to the prototype. However, since I don't really know what a real one looks like.......does this sould like what you ladies have? Basically a tube of folded-in-half fabric, that at one end has an "s" curve type shape to it. REALLY SIMPLE
I also am not entiely sure I know what to do with it. My mother-in-law has no clue and is no help. I mean, she looked up hotsling patterns, made one, and handed it over. I assume the baby goes in the "s-curve" part, and that you need to put the baby inside the fold of fabric until they are strong enough to sit up in it? Anybody have any good websites that demonstrate the wearing of this pouch? I also have a maya wrap and a baby bjorn, but they both seem pretty easy. Of course, I did buy those, so they came with some instruction. I'm sure hotslings are even easier!
