may be a stupid question

But.... I had no problems with bfing my first child. My daughter will be 4 weeks old tomorrow. I am pumping about 2 times a day and express about 2-3oz. per session. She nurses about every 2-3 hours which makes me think she may not be getting enough. My son went much longer between feedings, but was also 2 lbs. heavier at birth.
Does the 2-3 oz. sound like the right amount? Should I do something to increase my milk supply? If so, what?

Pumping tells you nothing about supply. Frequency of nursing tells you nothing about supply. Nurse as often as your baby wants. If you're concerned that he's getting enough- count diapers (there are guidelines on www.kellymom.com )

A 4 week old nursing every 2-3 hours sounds totally normal to me.

How much you're pumping really doesn't have anything to do with the child's intake, so don't let that throw you. (But even if she's getting 2 oz at a feeding, yes that would be a totally normal amount and nothing to worry about. My kids took 2 oz bottles - I'm a WOHM - till they were at least 4 months old).

I wouldn't change a thing, just keep doing what you're doing.
