L-Theanine for Anxiety?

I went to my holistic doctor on Monday & she gave me L-theanine for my insane anxiety. She said it's from green tea & is perfectly safe for me & Ds.

Anyone used it? How did it work?

I own a health food store. We have several people who use l-theanine for anxiety and love it. We have a formula safe for children, also, that works great. Just give it a little time to get in your system. I know it's also used for drug withdrawel symptoms so it must work pretty well.

I have the 2006 edition of Dr. Hale's book, and can't find it mentioned...but I might be missing it somewhere.

From Prescription for Nutritional Healingby James F. Balch, M.D. and Phyllis A. Balch, C.N.C. (second edition)
"Comments- Alleviates stress by boosting production of adrenaline. It also raises dopamine levels, which influence moods." "Do not take tyrosine if you are taking a MAO inhibitor drug." "Dosage Suggestions - Up to 50 mg per pound of body weight daily. Take on empty stomach with 50 mg vitamin B6 and 100-500 mg vitamin C for better absorption. Best takenat bedtime."
There's tons more info on this Amino Acid. There's about a 1/2 page of info on Tyrosine and what it does to the mind ex.,"Tyrosine acts as a mood elevator; a lack of adequate amounts of tyrosine leads to a deficiency of norepinephrine in the brain, which in turn can result in depression." It goes onto say more. It also explains the suggested types of amino acids to look for (Tyrosine) and the difference of L - Tyrosine to Tyrosine in the Amino Acids section of the book. I think it to be a very helpful read.
