We're considering moving to Great Falls and I was wondering if anyone knows of any homebirth midwives in the area. I've posted this in "Finding Your Tribe" as well.

There are midwives in Great Falls. I'm moving there also. I'm a midwife in Seattle now, but by June I'll be opening my home birth practice in Great Falls. What brings you to Great Falls?

I'm originally from Bozeman and my DH used to be stationed at the USAF base in Great Falls. He's thinking about getting out of the service and that's where we would go. I did find one midwife who had a website in GF but it's always nice to have more than one choice!

If you send me your contact info when you get situated I will keep it until needed (we aren't TTC until summer). How comfortable are you with a very hands-off birth?

We were stationed at Malmstrom AFB for 3.5 years. I had both my boys at Benefis Hospital there. Ollie Hamilton is the name that rings a bell. I think there is another midwife but she's further out. That is so great that you are opening a practice there midwifetraci! I had Elaine & Lisa (can't think of their last names) CNMs for my first birth there. Elaine attended and treated me very horribly. She used to do homebirths but learned that hospitals were "safer." For my second birth I had Joann CNM (I guess I can't remember her last name either.) She was much better but still pretty clueless. Very sweet though. The high risk Dr there (Dr Keyes?) is wonderful. Anyways, best wishes for finding some one who can help you have the birth you want!

I know Ollie and she is a lovely woman. She doesn't do a whole lot of births anymore, but she is very clued in to the Montana Midwives Association (not sure if that is the right name) and could be a resource to find others if she can't serve you.

I have met Ollie too and won't hesitate to ask her to attend me. She is warm, knowledgable and highly experienced.
