Alas, the spituppery!

Poor Baby Cleo has been a spitup fountain for the past two days. She's been extra antsy, and fussy, and has wanted to eat a lot, but then she spits up after every meal. It's like her brain wants a growth spurt, but her body doesn't! I'm totally weirded out-- before this, she spit up perhaps once a week, and only if shaken after a big feed. Sometimes I think it's because she tries to frantically cram her hands in her mouth and hits her gag reflex or something, as her pre-teeth seem to be really bothering her.

Anybody else? My baby is being weird!

But at least it's not projectile vomiting, right?

I remember ds1 gagging himself like that (if that's what she's doing.) But, both my boys have be spitters (multiple times a day), so I guess ds1 broke me in early (esp after spitting in my mouth a few times when I had him up in the air.

Is she eating solid foods or is this spitting up after nursing? I can't believe how much Louis spits up! I've never had a spitter upperer until him. If she's gaining well and it doesn't seem to be bothering her - I don't think I'd worry about it though. Maybe just always have a bib on her!

Ah yes, the cheese factory, I call dd. I notice the more she comfort nurses (gas, teething, whatever) the more she spits up. It doesn't seem to bother her really though, so I just keep a cloth wipe tucked in around her chin or a bib on her. Stella's a cheese machine!

The other day, we were in the store buying milk.

Dh: "Um, that one's leaking. Get another one."
I get another one
Dh: "It's still leaking. That's weird."
Me: shaking and shaking the milk carton to figure out where the leak was
Dh: "Oh, it's the baby leaking."
I had him in the sling, nad he was spitting up over the side, hitting the floor.

hehe, too funny!

& NewAtThis, the cheese factory is perfect!!!

Erin spits up occasionally... there doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to it... the funniest things for us is when we're holding her over the wood floor or linoleum (sp?) & you don't even know she's done it until you hear SPLAT!

Steph, Erin actually managed to spit up down my shirt once :

Yeah, you guys are right, must be teething related. It's got lots of saliva in it, to be sure. My shirt smells like a jug of bad milk. : But y'all are right-- we've got plenty of wet diapers, an otherwise lively and chubby baby and all the symptoms of a nasty bout of teething. It's just so distressing when it goes from once a week to once an hour, you know? Not to mention the laundry issues.

Ah, babies. They keep us on our toes.

Gotta love the spit up hitting the floor splat! Even happens on carpet, just not as sharp of a sound.

And it can take the finish right off our hardwood floor! Yikes, that is some acidic stuff!! Even when we wipe it up right away, it leaves a little cloudy place on our floor. Poor babies, imagine how it feels in their throats.
