Did Feminism Go Too Far? - Page 31

I don't think feminism has gone to far, women are still paid only half of what men are paid for the same job in my state. Rape and domestic violence rates are very high. And with the backlash against feminism women are now sex objects and shouldn't even nurse their children according to the media. This tells me feminism needs to work harder to include EVERYBODY.

I also don't think that the issue of women working after the kids go to school is a feminist issue as much as it is a practical issue to many men and women. Why shouldn't women work part time when the kids leave the house for school? Retirement from the government is non-existent and even normal aging carries increased health care costs. There are only so many times you can clean a house and do laundry. And wouldn't the kids benefit from a college savings plan? As a single mother it is very scary to have all of that on my head and the responsibility to teach my daughter that she is smart and worth more than society is telling her she is worth.

I'm returning this thread.

I have removed some posts that were deleted, and quoted or responded to those posts. If you have any questions please feel free to pm me.

Also because this thread seems to have run it's course and is no longer continueing to discuss femenism as it pertains to SAHMing, I am going to close it.

Thank you for your patience.
