What ds really thinks of his "milkies"

I've told this story to a few people, but I think it'll be better appreciated here! Today, my 2 yo son was bouncing off the walls and just driving me crazy! I usually try to distract him with some kind of game or activity, but I had no energy! I needed a break, too. So I suggested we sit down and nurse. He did a little dance and said:

"Yay! Milkies, milkies! I yuv my milkies! Dis make me happy, mama. Dis fun for me!"

ha ha! What a sweet thing to say! It makes me want to nurse forever!

hehe ... the other day Cub (2yo) was sitting in my lap facing me, and pulled my shirt up.

"One nurse .. TWO nurses!"

*delighted grin*

"Best friends ... "

Thank you both for responding

Isn't it wonderful that we can provide something that our children take such delight in? I wish every mother and child could know the joy of this experience. The nurse-in in Berkeley last summer was like being in Happy Baby Land! My step-daughter was ff, and she once remarked that she had to drink from a bottle and that she wasn't given a choice. I don't know the circumstances around it, and I don't want to judge, but I wonder how she'd be different if she had been nursed.

Oh, and ds has an ear infection and he nursed all night long. It was the only thing that comforted him. Thank goodness for the magic of milkies

I just wanted to say I miss nursing too! My dd weaned about a month ago (I, too, am pg) and I miss it so much!

I got out of the shower the other day and dd pointed to my breast and I asked her what it was. I had already taught her the word, "breast" but she got a big smile on her face and said "murse!" So cute...

Just that one moment must have made any difficulties well worth it.

I love thinking of all the "little moments" I would have never had if I had not nursed.
