OY! cats and birthtubs

so my 2 yo cat isn't really afraid of water... she goes out in the rain, walked around the flooded basement with me, and just looks annoyed when she gets sprayed for being naughty.

well, she fell into the tub this morning... UNDER the cover. of course she couldn't figure out how to get out. thank goodness she fell in while i was awake otherwise we would have awoken to find a drowned cat in the tub.

think she's learned her lesson? probably not. now i have to figure out how to keep her out of there. crazy cat.

anyone else have this issue with their cat (s)?

Did you end up filling it halfway then?? I am so glad that she (your cat) was rescued...that would be a horrible way to start the morning.

yeah, we filled it up half way last night and then discovered that the heater can't go on until the tub is filled up all the way. however we also discovered that out hotwater heater can get turned up all the way to 160 degrees. so we can add fairly hot water into the tub when we are ready to fill it.

my idiot cat. i hope she learned her lesson, but she's just too crazy sometimes for me to trust her.

I'm telling you my cat is ALL ABOUT the homebirth. He loved it last time and is hovering again. I especially liked it when I was in the tub. Too bad he can't be the midwife. I'd save a bundle of $$$.

my cats get into the sink and bath tub all the time. one will purposely splash the water around in the water dish and make a huge mess with it

Ours will occasionally get in the shower but not the sink or tub. I don't know what your tub looks like but hopefully kitty's claws will not make it spring a leak!! That would not be good!!

Not in your DDC but our cats loved to nap on top of my birth tub.

Cat claws + inflatable tub = bad bad!

The last time I was pg, DH thought it would be REALLY FUNNY to put the cat on top of my birth ball! Well of course within minutes I had a totally flat, totally useless birth ball!! (It was a good excuse to go out and buy another one though!) I sure wasn't going to trust a patch over the holes... not when I was going to be enormous and trying to sit on it in the shower... no thanks!
