Yippee! This is so exciting!

Have you decided on names yet? or are they a secret?
If it's a girl...Saffron Bella. DH had his "girl" name picked out for years, but kept it a secret from me....the only clue he would give me was that it started with an S until last year, then he finally spilled the beans. He wanted that name b/c it represented an exotic and exquisite spice that added gorgeous color and aroma & flavor to food, and that it is the innermost threads of a certain beautiful purplish crocus flower. How could I deny our daughter that beautiful naming story? Anyway, I love the name so it wasn't an issue.
If it's a boy we both love the name Zachariah Wolf. (but I think it's a girl: )

What are you most excited about as you become a mommy?
Sooo much. I've dreamed of becoming a mommy for so many years. 10 years ago I had a very serious medical complication resulting in an extensive surgery that left me with alot of scar tissue & it was assumed I would not be able to conceive. I was devestated. But finally, with some fertility assistance,we were able to get pregnant. I have been aware of this blessing every single day of pregnancy, and am so filled with gratitude. I can't wait to hold and look at and meet this little baby. I'm already so in love and the truth is I can't even come up with the words to express what I'm most excited about. I am truly overcome.... and so thrilled....

What are your hobbies?
Hmmmm.....I love to design things....everything from outfits & costumes....to kitchens & gardens. Often the designs stay in my head....but not always. I love to recreate space. I'm hugely into yardsaling, I love taking on other peoples treasures and making them my own, (plus I get to buy really cool things for really cheap while recycling = 0 guilt ) Our whole house is yardsale chic and its really beautiful. I also love to sew & cook and make up songs while I'm driving.

Thanks Yonit for the great questions.

I absolutely LOVE to travel! It seems like a lifetime ago, but from about age 18-26 I lived in a different part of the world almost every year ( I went to a college that had campuses all over the globe emphasizing cultural studies, sensitivities, arts & languages....) My favorite place was Bali, Indonesia. I lived there for several years and loved the music, dance, language, FOOD!, climate, natural beauty, history, did I mention the food?...I could go on & on....

Thanks Lanie...I didn't even realize that you could really see our room in those photos! I love our room, that was last years project. I usually design & my DH manifests it with his building talents. We're a good team like that. Right now were doing the kitchen!

What is your favorite time of year and why?
It used to be summer ( I was so conditioned to warm weather that I got cold really easily and hated having to bundle up in tons of clothing) Now....It's almost a toss-up. I love spring (especially now that I've gotten into my flower gardens) All the new life and budding color is such a treat to be a part of. Summer....is so beautiful here, we live close to the ocean and the only time its warm enough to swim in is in summer. I also love the laziness of summer...and I'm outside alot...I get to lazy to get out much when its cold. Autumn...gorgeous colors & slight nip in the air...love that too. And, winter..it's my hermit time, which I wouldn't trade for anything...so..I'd have to say all of the above are my faves!

What is your lucky number?
It used to be 56, but that was when I was in elementary school & every year kept receiving the same number on the back of my team basketball shirt. I thought it was an amazing coincidence. Of course, I'm just realizing now as I type this that they must have intentionally given everyone the same number year after year just to keep things in order! As an adult I think my favorite # is 3.

What was the best Christmas gift that you received?
Hmmmm...that's a tough one. When I was 16 my father & stepmother had a baby Dec. 16. My new sister was like my baby for years....She & my other sister, (born 2 years later) are 2 of my lifes most precious blessings. The older one came at that insecure time in my life where friends & school and parents were all very complicated. With her, Katy, I could just love & love & love...She gave me a sense of strength, competence & self that was invaluable at that time. We're still super close.

Thanks Liz & Lanie! It's so fun to share with all of you mamas!

Do you have everything ready for this baby?
What is your favorite baby item that you have bought yourself and/or received from someone else?

Do you have everything ready for this baby?
Oh goodness.....I think so. Yes....I'm ready for this baby. I probably have more than I need...The baby is coming a week from tomorrow (medically necessary planned c-sect;belly birth). What I really need to figure out this week is family health insurance options & 2006 taxes. I owned a really busy little coffee shop that I sold a year ago (it was almost the death of me) so taxes this year will be super complicated...I would really like to get those over with....and insurance plans...how to choose them & how to pay for them...agggghhh!!!.: I hate dealing with those types of logistics.

What is your favorite baby item that you have bought yourself and/or received from someone else?
3 things are my faves (there's alot of runner-ups though)....
1. cloth diapers...I'm hooked, they are so darn cute I can't stand it, ( i hope the practice is as enjoyable as the theory!)
2. My soul baby NYC ring sling. It is so gorgeous. I wanted one so badly but she had a really long waiting list so It didn't look like I'd be getting one for a loooong time, and suddenly one popped up on the TP....Brand new condition, I love it so much (of course, I'm still in theory-ville here....)
3. A lana wool baby blanket...mama's you must check these out! They are soooo incredibly sumptuous, soft & cozy. They're a little pricey (mine was a gift) but they are heaven. Mine is from tinybirdsorganics.com.

Thanks Amy!

Anyone else? I admit it...I'm so bored these days just waiting for baby to come, I've got a hint of cabin fever and these questions have been a great distraction.
