Whisper Wear Pump - opinions please!

Thread Starter
Preface: I have a purely yours from WIC and it normally takes me anywhere from 20 minutes to 45 minutes to pump. I'm a college student and working PT {which may soon develop into a full time} and just don't have time to pump the way I should. My supply really is suffering by the end of the week, and since I"m also pumping {or trying to} for the milk bank, I would like to keep my suppy up as much as possible.

Does the whisper wear pump work as well as the PY? What issues did you have with it? How long does it take to pump with it? Will it fit someone with large {DD} breasts? How long can you let the milk sit on you? How do you sterilize it? Where's the cheapest and best place to buy it?

I have only seen bad reviews for the pump. I didn't do well with the purely yours either. I love the medela pump in style though.

I found that the WW worked as well as my PIS, but it took longer. However, since it is battery operated adn fits in my bra, this was not such a problem. I usually left it on for 30 to 45 minutes and got 4 ounces per side, but every woman is different. I started out as an I cup (now a G) so DD is not a problem. I found the best bra to wear with it was one of the Bravado bras, not the supreme. You can let the milk sit as long as you would let it sit outside of the fridge, but I would not leave them on when not running, you need to give the nipples a rest. I sterilize the parts using the Medela steam microwave bags, and you can look for online suppliers on the WhisperWear web site. I usually order pumps and parts from PumpExpress, which is a local company, and happens to be located very close to WhisperWear headquaters.

Any other questions?
