Metamucil ???????

I read somewhere that it will help bring on labor?? I was just wondering if you ladies have heard or tried it?! Im just so tired of being preg im willing to try almost anything (before they try to induce me!!) so if anyone knows how to move things along please let me know!!!

I haven't tried it for labor (this is my first pregnancy), but I HATE metamucil. I've had (sorry, TMI) constipation issues in the past and I find getting the stuff down to be difficult and it doesn't really help.

I think the point is that it would give you the runs, which can increase contractions.

My doula (who happens to be a midwife) told me that an enema can be used to accelerate or bring on (if you are ready) labor. If you are willing to try anything ....

I have been struggling with this myself. I am due on Feb. 1 and have been thinking about what to do if I go over... My midwife suggested castor oil but I would really consider inducing naturally until I go 2 weeks over. I am having a homebirth and dont want to go to the hospital unless absolutley ness. good Luck!
