C'mon, get painful already!

I've been having regular contractions since 6:00pm yesterday. It's 5:34pm the next day.

They are anywhere from 3 minutes to 20 minutes apart. Some I can hardly tell I'm having, others are a bit crampy. I could tell something was up yesterday when I started having a lot more pressure on my bladder and had about 8 bowel movements in one day.

After 3 hours of the consistent contractions I decided I'd take a shower, and they'd surely stop - like every other night - and all would be well. They actually started coming more frequently during my shower and got a bit more intense afterwards. I know that I kept having them through the night as I woke up a couple times to a contraction, and also was having them everytime I got up to use the bathroom.

And I've been having them consistently all day. We went to the mall and walked around. I've been bouncing/rolling on my birth ball. And have done quite a bit of cleaning. We even prepped the bed with plastic.

I just want them to get stronger already!

Popping in from March With my second labor, mine never really got stronger. They got to where they were on top of each other, but never really painful, it was weird too. Never lost my plug, water never broke. My dh had to convince me I was actually in labor. We made it to the hospital and she was born two hours later...

I'm right there with ya. I've been having them on and off for 3 weeks, like 3 days in a row then nothing for 5. I am dilated and effaced and baby was at +1 9 days ago so I know they are doing something.

I guess we just have to have faith that our bodies are doing what they need to to prepare.

Hang in there.

Oh, that would be nice. But somehow I doubt that'll happen for me. I'm having an HBAC, so I'm expecting a pretty long drawn out labor.

Congrats in advance on the HBAC! I agree with Wild Flowers - you might be in for a pleasant surprise. #1 was a painful, horrible labor, but #2 surprised me with 3 days of painless prodromal labor, followed by 4 hours of painless active labor (and just like Wild Flowers described, active labor is when they get right on top of each other with hardly any break).
