On Thursday, January 25 at 1:06 a.m., Annalise Elizabeth FINALLY made her arrival Earthside. She teased her mom with 12 hours of laboring at the birth center Monday night (Jan 22), let her rest a bit Tuesday day and night (still with contractions every 15-20 minutes, though), and kicked it into high gear on Wednesday. Labor was harder than I ever could have imagined - an incredibly humbling experience. Still, I was successful in having the birth I wanted: drug-free in a birth center with only my husband and midwife in attendance.
We didn’t know the sex but EVERY stranger that I encountered insisted that I was carrying a boy. What a surprise when this little one arrived!
