I Love Being Pregnant Because...

Thread Starter
Maybe it's the hormones, or maybe I'm just sentimental tonight. This is "it" for us, (we have a DS 3 and this is our second - and last *sigh* according to DH). I keep thinking about how I'll never be pregnant again after this. Before it's over, I thought it might be fun to reminisce (sp?) about all the wonderful things about being pregant. Anyone game?

I'll start...

I love being pregnant because...

...I get to eat whatever I want and don't feel guilty when I have seconds. It's the only time in my life I am not trying to watch my weight (or lose weight!).

...when I feel baby kick, turn or hiccup, I am reminded how much he is a part of me, and always will be.

...I am reminded of what's really important in life, and for once, don't stress about "the small stuff" as much.

...I always get offered a seat, wherever I am.

...I have an excuse to go to bed early.

...I get to use the "expectant mothers" parking spots at the mall.

Kathy.

I love being pregnant because it is a miracle.

I feel fortunate that I have been blessed to mother another child.

I love feeling the baby move inside of me.

I love seeing my children dote over the sibling they haven't even met yet. They already love him or her so much!

I get to see my MW all of the time - she is one of my favorite people.

People smile at you when you're pregnant.

I enjoy my body more.

I take better care of myself - eating good food, avoiding sugar, taking vitamins, supplements, homeopathy and going to the chiropractor more often. I take better care of myself when it's not just me.

I could go on and on - this pregnancy is going by way too fast. This is also my last and I know I will mourn not being pregnant again.

(sigh) I love uplifting, positive threads like this. They make me weepy, though.

Love being pregnant because...

...I love feeling baby move inside of me
...I love not worrying about eating extra (when I'm enjoying eating extra and it's not a chore, that is)
...I don't feel pressure to wear cute shoes
...It makes me feel connected to womenkind and my husband in new and stronger ways

Okay, this is a good thread for me right now, because generally I am a grouchy b*&% about being pregnant. Which really is a terrible thing because it is an amazing blessing and I do so love babies....AND because I've chosen to be pregnant four times now!

I love being pregnant because there is a new being growing and living inside me, that was created from the love that DH and I have for each other and from the love that a higher power has for us.

I love being pregnant because the new little being that is growing in me is someone who I've never met and yet is totally familiar to me. I love discovering who they are once they join us earthside!

I love being pregnant because it is amazing and beautiful that my body can grow, nurture and birth a totally new person!

I love feeling the baby move. It gives me a certain feeling of peace.

People in general seem kinder. Strangers open doors for me, elderly women smile knowingly, the mystery of a soon-to-be-born babe brings out good things in humanity.

I feel wise. I feel like I am part of something bigger than I am, and part of a "sisterhood".

I love baby hats, and seeing how tiny the little heads are gonna be
I love having an excuse to use a body pillow
Believe it or not, I do love maternity clothes!
I love the first movements of baby and the little hiccups!!

I blogged about this once! I agree!! Like a vessel and a part of the future. It's like an immortality.

This is a beautiful thread! Pregnancy is uncomfortable, but it's so amazing. I was really surprised at how much I missed it when it was over. (I think that's why this pregnancy is much more of a joy! Yeah, I'm still nauseated round the clock month after month, but I know I'll miss the good stuff more than I'll feel relief to be done with the icky parts.)

I love pregnancy because...

- I get the chance to grow a new person. I feel like a superhero!
- feeling a little baby move inside me is the most incredible, weird, perfect, surreal thing I've experienced.
- people don't seem to care how big you are, or what you wear, and they'll usually offer the last cookie to you. And, when people are rude, it's a bit easier to put them in their place!
- the midwife visits and preparations make it seem like a big event. Once a month visits, then every 2 weeks, then every week!!! WAHOO!
- my husband and I enjoy pregnancy far more than we did being engaged. All the fun of preparing for our lives to change in a fabulous way, none of the vendors or family hassles.
- each pregnancy is truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience, never to be replicated, imitated, or repeated.

and, perhaps my favorite,
- I love pregnancy because it's FAR easier to care for a baby who's inside!

I loved being pregnant with my first, it was amazing. My second pregnancy was super hard, and much of it probably had to do with having it pretty easy the first time around. But a huge thing with this pregnancy is
I LOVE the way my belly looks. Like, reallly really love it. I am not sure if it is just me being older, more comfy with my body, but I feel much more sexy(as long as I am not trying to get out of bed ) than I did with either of my pregnancies.
The hiccups have been much gentler this time around and been very sweet.
I love my girls coming up and kissing, hugging, talking to the baby.
I love them "seeing" the baby through my belly button, who needs an ultrasound?

SO true!!

I like:
- getting kicked from the inside (I like knowing he/she's spunky even before birth)
- my round belly (much cuter than it will be post-birth, that's for sure!)
- the ice cream. pickles. fruits and veggies have NEVER tasted so good (since my last pregnancy, at least)

And I have to say, my first pregnancy was magic b/c it was my first time. But there's a special magic this time in helping Robin understand some of pregnancy and birth and get ready to be a big sister. She's very excited and eager to learn, and i love it. Today she brought a doll and a little teletubbie to me and said, "These are my 2 babies, and I pushed them out." :

ok.
I love being pregnant because..

... I always wanted to have a baby, and I was begining to think I would never get pregnant.

... After planning on doing it on my own and trying artificial turkey basting, I got to do it with the love of my life, the one and only I have truly loved, my first love now that we are back together.

... I love the way my boyfriend already loves this baby, and how his daughter just comes up to me and kisses my belly out of the blue.

... I love the fact that I can nap in the afternoon and not feel guilty or have to explain myself.

I was JUST making a list like this today, for when my cargo of stuff arrives (we just moved to North America) and I get my scrapbooking stuff!
I want to do a page about "things I love about pregnancy".

Most of the stuff here is on my list.

Also, I love seeing my husband kneel beside me, kiss my belly and whisper "I love you, little girl" to the baby.

I love that first movement in the morning that reminds me I have life in me.

Guilt free pedicures and facials at the spa.

I like that I remember to take care of myself - using body creme, taking vitamins, drinking water, eating healthy, flossing.

I love that my husband calls himself a father already, and I see him stand just a wee bit taller and prouder.

I love being pregnant because....

..my body takes on a life of it's own, and all I have to do is love it.
....there is no feeling on the planet that feels quite like a kick or punch from the inside!
...people bring chocolate, for the baby.
...cause when it's good, it's really good.
...I am growing new person. Really, how cool is that?
