First-time mom, twin unmedicated vaginal birth! Yay!

I thought this was the February DDC? Look at all the birth announcements!

Hi ladies-

it's a frickin whirlwind trying to find time to do anything other than feed babies and sleep and eat.

But here is my super quick clift notes:

TWO VAGINAL UNMEDICATED DELIVERIES!!!!!!!!!!!!! YAYY!!!!!!!!!!!

Thank God for my doula. She helped me figure out pushing. Turns out I'm one of those who needs to not 'breathe the baby out'. I needed to hold my breath and make some big things happen out of some puny contractions! I was so afraid of 'purple pushing' I almost didn't get anythiing accomplished!

Sean Edward Allen was born Thursday at 7:13 P.M. weighing 6 lbs 2 oz. His brother Seth Thomas Allen followed at 7:20 P.M. weighing 4 lbs 15 oz.
They are both home now and super healthy. We were at the hospital until Sunday because of weights, but I didn't mind. My body took a few days to feel right again and the nirsing staff was aces. We were the talk of the ward because I was tandem nursing almost the whole time.

RRL tea also impressed a bunch of people. My uterus shrunk back to almost normal size in only 4 days and bleeding has been less than a period, more or less. I couldn;t drink my super strong concocyion during labor because it made me want to puke, but it was SO handy to have after birth, especially since I became pretty anemic.

Anyway, it will be a bit before I can come back and properly chit chat. I just eradicated their jaundice with 2 hours feedings round the clock and now am focused on getting their weights up so we can leave the doctors far far behind us.

Hugs to all,

Jude

oh, and P.S.

There were 13 people on stand by waiting outside my OR room forr some calamity. They all poured in after Sean was born. They had absolutely NOTHING to do except see how a natural birth is done.
