What should I be asking the dentist?

Hi

My 28 month old DD needs dental work done. The dentist told me to find a Pediodontist. She has cavities on the backs of her front top teeth. I finally found one that will let me be in the same room when the work is being done. I have been reading a lot on this board for the last couple of days. I am looking at the WAP. I have a feeling that it is going to need to be taken care of sooner then it can heal itself. She is not in any pain but I can see the gap between her front teeth. What should I be asking the dentist? Which are the bad fillings. I go to the Pediodontist on 2/5. The first dentist suggested it may be from Bfing. I don't believe that, and I am not going to stop BFing and I am not going to do flouride. What else should I be concerned about. I am not very informed on this dental stuff because I have never had much problem with my teeth and never imagined my DD would.

Thanks

A lot of dentists aren't very informed about breastfeeding, and aren't very ammenable to being "educated" by a mom about it; it's a shame. It's great they'll let you stick around in the room while your child is being treated; that means it is not in their agenda to bully your child into submission, and that is a very big thing. A policy of allowing a parent to observe the work is a good enough reason to choose that dentist for your children, I believe.
