Anyone else's intact boy do the "opposite" of retraction?

My 2-year-old sometimes puts his foreskin under what looks to me like a great deal of traction (pulls it way up over the head of his penis). He isn't retractable yet and has a fairly long foreskin, neither of which concern me. His pulling doesn't seem to hurt him (he actually seems to kind of like it), but it looks painful! I'm assuming it isn't "bad" since he's doing it himself...

My 2 1/2 yo does this all the time. I've never thought twice about it, and am assuming it is a perfectly normal thing to do when one is running around nude all day long, lol!

My almost-2 year old does this all the time! He pulls and yanks on it so hard, I think that must really hurt! But I guess if it was painful, he wouldn't do it.

I've read that pulling on it is very common and helps the skin in there separate.

And that it feels good, sort of like scratching an itch.

And all three of my boys did/do it lots.

my 2yo does this all the time too. it obviously doesn't hurt or he wouldn't do it!

We have a stretcher too. He also likes to poke it back in like an innie. It makes DF cringe and run from the room.

My boys used to rectract a bit, put their finger on then end of their penis and pull the foreskin up over it eeeek!

Anything they do to themselves is fine don't worry about it.

Take a second and rub your eyes. You'll notice that you can rub them really hard on the outside and it feels fine (I liked that "scratching an itch" imagery above). Then, imagine pulling the eyelid away from the eyeball or touching the inside of the lid. . . that would feel so wrong.

The foreskin is similar in design function to the eyelid. It's there to keep a part moist that is supposed to be moist all the time AND to provide protection. The most sensitive nerve endings are on the inner surface.

Hey, it feels good so they do it. DS likes to grab and twist betwee his fingers. He wouldn't be doing it if it hurt .

Yes both my boys did/do it. I never thought much about it, except sometimes to think, "That looks like it hurts! But I guess it must not hurt."

That is one of the advantages to having foreskin!

All 3 of my boys do this.

Stretching... well yes of course, normal for my son too.

But see, this is why forced/early retraction is even so horrifying for me.... my son NEVER pulls his foreskin back, only forward.

Yep, my almost 3 year old does it too and it is really stretchy!

He also has started pulling it out and then poking his finger in the end. They won't do anything that will hurt themselves and if they accidentally try something new that does hurt they won't do it more than once.

My 3 year old started this at 2 and still enjoys tugging at his foreskin

DS1 used to do this all the time, although it's been awhile since I've seen him to it (he's more discreet now ).

It's normal

DS has tried to put his foreskin in his ear, his belly button, and his mouth. He stretches it to seemingly impossible proportions.

My oldest used to do things with his foreskin that would make me cringe . DS2 hasn't discovered the joys of foreskin stretching yet.

My ds did/does this. My theory is that they are retracting from the inside out. That way the glans stays covered and protected as long as possible while the foreskin is separating.

I used to babysit a little boy who did that all the time! I was horrified, being a girl and an only child and not having any clue that boys could stretch their foreskins like that. But as the PPs have said, they wouldn't do it if it hurt.

Oh, the things that my partner and I have to look forward to with my DS!

Boy, is this bringing back memories! Yup, my sons did this a lot as toddlers, too. It's perfectly normal.
