Queries and responses

Thread Starter
I have a goal this year of sending out two queries each month (or equivalent). In January, I sent 3 and got 2 responses back... one was a rejection (not at this time, blah, blah), but the other was "we look forward to seeing your article" etc.

So now, I just need to write the blasted thing...

Congrats on your acceptance! The sooner you write the article and get it off, the sooner you can put it out of your mind and write more queries and articles. At least for me, it's better to submit queries and/or articles and forget about them. Not that I don't keep track of them. I do, but I don't check the mail/email every day looking for responses. It can take them an eternity to respond, so waiting expectantly is more painful than it's worth!
But you can write this article! It's actually harder to write a query than an article, and now you even have the query as a kind of outline.
