What kind of toothpaste for 2year old?

We have been using some kind of kids oragel toothpaste, but we just used up the tube. I bought some Toms of Maine toothpaste for kids but she HATES the taste -- gags on it.

What flavor did you try?
T of M makes a grape, a strawberry, an orange-mango... children's toothpastes. I can't think of any other flavors off the top of my head.
DD uses their floride-free silly strawberry.
They may also make an apricot-something or other, but I don't know if it's specifically for children.
We've tried the Animal Parade children's toothpaste, but dd didn't like it.
Good luck on your mission,

Weleda makes a flouride free childrens gel that doesn't taste too bad. It smells kinda like tea,I think. I think it's just called childrens tooth and gum cleanser,or something along those lines.

We just got Spry infant gel. When they are infants you can put it on a cotton swab and rub on their teeth. At two you put 3-5 drops on a toothbrush and brush regularly. It has xylitol and my son likes it just fine. I think you can buy it online at xlear.

Great minds think alike because I recently asked this very question in the Toddler forum.

I used the Tom's of Maine Silly Strawberry toothpaste on DD's teeth. The taste seemed to agree with DD but I didn't realize the toothpaste had fluoride. Yeah, the package says "natural fluoride' but I stupidly thought it was something other than the fluoride in other toothpastes. I looked it up and realized fluoride is fluoride. I switched DD to the Burt's Bees fluoride free toothpaste. It's called Cinna Mint, I believe. DD doesn't mind the taste from what I can tell. She objects to having her teeth brushed but that's a different story.

I wouldn't use Tom's since it has Sodium Lauryl Sulfate in it - a detergent. Not so good for lil ones who still swallow it. We like Weleda.

Well, we're trying Burt's Bees orange toothpaste because we happened to have some in the house. She seems to like it a little better, but she really liked that oragel. . .

Tonight was horrible, she just would not open her mouth. I'm okay with letting her go a day or two or even three without brushing, but after that, I think she really really needs it done.
