Infection,or just a rash?

Quick question here: DS2 is 2 yrs old,and this AM when I was getting him dressed for the day I noticed on the underside of his penis,in a "line" if that makes sense,a red line that looks irritated, and the very tip of the foreskin also looks a bit pinkish/red/inflamed. It is also extending down onto his scrotum,in the same "line. I home this makes sense,I don't really know how else to describe it.
Could it be a rash,or is it possibly an infection? He told me he has a "boo-boo on my doodeley". (That's what he calls his penis) He doesn't seem to have any problems urinating or anything,so I dunno...just thought I'd ask here before calling the ped, kwim?

it sounds like just a rash that makes the line stand out. What do you usually do for diaper rashes? try that and see if it improves like any other rash?

My ds gets that when he doesn't drink enough water and pees in his cloth nighttime doaper. COuld that be it?

Sounds to me like his penile raphe is irritated. I have noticed this in both of my sons during their diaper wearing years.

Here is a definition for you:

I don't know why but that line seemed to be more damp sensitive than the surrounding skin on my guys. Airing it out or some diaper cream(if you use it) should help.

Take care,

Yes,that's the "line" I meant. Didn't know the correct term, though, lol. He does still wear diapers at night so it is probably from that, cause he isnt really wearing them during the day,so maybe he's more sensitive to the diapers since he only really wears them at night? I did put a little nystatin on it that we had in the medicine chest for thrush a while back and it seems a bit less red,so I dunno if it is a yeast infection,it doesn't really look like thrush but the cream seems to be helping him,so I dunno. I was just worried cause of the way the redness was forming a line,I havent really seen it do that before.

TY for the replies,sorry,nak.

It's probably only helping b/c it's greasy and keeping the skin from rubbing, etc. Any diaper cream will help just as much.
