Spinoff- How long is DH/SO taking off for baby? - Page 3

My DH is taking 1 weeks off but my parents live next door so that helps.

Dp will probably take a week off...I wish it could be longer, but he'll have been off the whole winter by then and his work will just be starting back up. If we could actually save some $ then he could maybe take 2 weeks.

Dh is self employed as a carpenter and will tak off the day of birth and the day after. We may be able to finagle some more time, but that is his busy season and with his income being all she wrote, we need the money. I am hoping to go into my birthing time on Thursday, then he can take off Friday and have the weekend too! But that will most likely NEVER happen... Abrie and I will have to have a mommy to baby pow wow... HMMM

dh teaches at a college, so other than the time he has to be in class, his time is pretty flexible and a lot of his tasks he can do from home. also the semester ends about 3 weeks after i'm due, and then we're heading into a sabbatical year, so he doesn't have to plan for teaching over the summer, so he'll be even more flexible than usual in the summer months.

ds was born a week before the end of a fall semester, and then dh was off teaching for about 7 weeks... it was really nice to have him so available!

when Lily was born we were waiting for DH to turn 18 so he could get a job. so he was home from then until mid December (a few months). with Mable he went to work the very next day. i thought it would be all good but i could have used support. i was active but needed someone there with me. luckily my cousin came down a week or so later and that was nice. this time we're shooting for a week but that's only if he has enough vaccation hours. here's hoping!

DH is taking one week off, well a week and a day. But then my mom is taking the next week off to come help out.

DH has 3 weeks of paid time off but wants to save some for later on in the year in case we go on vacation (yeah right) so I'm kinda bummed, I wish he was taking it all right after the baby is born. Oh and he also said he might have to do some work from home, ugh!

My DH is taking a week paid paternity leave after the baby is born. After that instead of taking full days, I asked him to take half day mornings as needed (aka if I was up all night with the baby type thing). The older kiddos will still be involved with activities so I don't really need him there full time. My parents live an hour away so they are sure to be down a lot. My MIL is coming early June (when all kiddos activities end) to stay for 6 weeks!! She does not know what she is getting herself into!! I told her to expect to be busy and she said she liked to be busy. We'll see.

I am truely blessed, we live where my dh works, a camp. So in a way he won't actually take any time "off" he will just work from home and come home when I need him too.
