TTC 6+ months February 2007 Support Thread

Welcome to the support thread for those of us who've been trying for a little bit longer than the average bear.
The 6-12 month mark in TTC seems especially tough because it's been longer than a lot of people
but not quite long enough to qualify for the next level of treatment/approach.
(Note that some of us have been trying for 12+, but we're taking our time and sticking with this thread for a bit!)

We would love to talk with others who are at similar places in

ETA... because this was new.. please check your chart and make sure I put it by the correct name.. I'm 99% sure I did.. but just to be safe... its a little difficult because not everyone has a name on their ff chart... but again.. I'm pretty sure I did it all right.

I liked it, but I've added something- anytime the secret would say "the universe" is sending me things, I change it to "the Lord." Also, I don't think I am manifesting, I feel that when I follow the secret, I am putting myself in alignment with everything around me so that the Lord can manifest things for me... To everyone else- sorry I haven't posted in a few days... I haven't temped either. I had my first lab practical Tuesday, so I spent all monday night up and studying, and then crashed Tues afternoon and today... It was worth it b/c I got a 90 though!!!!!

I'll post more tomorrow when I'm more well rested (I'm visualizing a snow day for tomorrow... I can see the pres. of the university ordering the school to close )

I missed a day and there was sooo much stuff to read. Sorry to everyone who has gotten AF.

to anyone who has O'd or is waiting to O!!!

Tara - I love The Secret! I have a copy here at home and try to watch it once or twice a week. I also like the Hicks book The Law of Attraction. I have tried to change my whole focus. Because I kind of felt I was so focused on TTC that I was creating a situation where all I was doing was trying to conceive and never getting preg. I have been trying to focus on having a baby. I have been doing a Wayne Dyer meditation cd for it. I don't always do the best but I am trying!

Still waiting for AF to start! I have had cramps for days.: Just start! Good news is my LP is back to 13 days.

this is what I've been doing too, I listen to the hayhouse audio of the Abraham-Hicks LoA all the time, there are a few portions of it that really hit home for me.

kind of a rough morning

dh came back this morning and headed straight upstairs (normally he'll get on the computer for awhile and play a game or whatever)

I went up and said whats wrong... he kept telling me nvm... long story short hes getting his hours cut back

normally he works 13 days in a row with one day off.. (its not as bad as it sounds.. try working that with severe morning sickness... thats bad)... and now hes going to 5 days a week... the bad thing about that is 1.. the $$$ and 2. he just got a new position in a new department of the company.. hes went for 2 years without having REAL overtime... he finally got it.. and now theyre taking it away again

I think this is really hitting him hard in the "provider" area... he was finally doing well for us.. and now hes not (I still think we'll be fine.. I'm not normally so optimistic.. he is)...

hes sleepin now and hopefully hell be in a better mood

on a lighter note... a little more spotting yesterday I'm not sure if it is even spotting.. just tiny streaks in cm.. sorry if tmi.... but hey its better than nothing at all right?

AF is terrible the last 24 hours.....holy crap.......Thank God the clomid will shorten my cycle tho (hopefully). I suppose I agree with Ity, clomid makes all things with AF totally worse.

Christy, I so hope your signs are pregnancy signs for sure. YAY!

I'm getting to work from home today because there is snow in Raleigh NC. And get this, they close EVERYTHING down even at the threat of snow. Coming from Colorado and tons of snow I'm not used to this. Everyone here just freaks out so bad when it snows. Crazy.

Do you think the progesterone is making my periods lighter? Normally I know I've started when I have bad cramps with a gush of blood, sorry, tmi.

I was wondering if anyone else is taking prenatals or regular multivitamins for ttc... and if it has made a difference in your cycles.. I know valarie is... just wondering about everyone else

Well, I can't take prenatal's because they cause me SEVERE constipation. Even the ones with out iron in them. So I take 1mg of Folic Acid everynight. I have been doing this for about 1.5 years since I was pregnant with Kamryn. And since we were going to start TTC'ing again the doc gave me a script for the full 1mg of it. I've been taking it ever since. I was also taking vit C and zinc, but the zinc makes me ill and pukey and I heard that vit C can deflect implantation. So I just take the folic acid and this past cycle started b-6 as well. Nothing has changed with my cycles tho.

Wow - not even a dman flake here. : I want SNOW!!! #$^#$^! I love winter, and I love snow and snow makes me happy and we DON'T HAVE ANY!

Not that I'm glad its happeneing to you, but I'm reassured to hear that someone else is having an awful and heavy period. On another section (infertility) I posted that mine was awful, and someone said that they and everyone else they knew had lighter periods on Clomid, and I was worried for a bit. In fact, the bleeding had all but stopped for me, but I'm still crampy! :

If it makes you feel any better, I'm a late ovulator myself, its entirely possibly you just haven't yet. I've O'd as late as CD23, and CD18 is my earliest. (So I know it'll be interested when I do get pregnant, trying to convince the Dr not to use the CD14 as my O'day to calculate my EDD - My oB already is talking c-sections with me because of an ever-so-slight septum in my uterus: )

I take a regular One-A-Day womens multi and a folic suppliment (400mcg) along with 2 day each of Flax and EPO (3 a day(what the bottle says to take) makes my hair greasy and my face oily, and it'll break out like crazy, so I just suppliment with Mucinex and green tea as O'day nears.)

Teneal - how much snow did you get out on the coast? We got a grand total of 2 inches which is now melting away. As a native New Englander I don't think I've ever been this amused by 2 inches of snow. Every city office within 4 counties is closed and at least 50% of the businesses too. I mean, I understand that they don't see much snow and don't expect it but this is ridiculous. It's good they start closing things though because these people can't drive in anything resembling snow (things that include: sleet, slush, freezing rain and muck).

Sarah - I understand the stress of opk's. I went through 20 of them before ovulating (and running out).

Crystal - hopefully af picks up and your cycle can regulate itself.

Barbara - I'm worried about EDD's too. Although, FWIW, with the progesterone done on cd21 (and coming back as not ovulated yet) she should be able to believe me when I tell her that I ovulated on cd23. Obvioulsy it wasn't cd14 though!

Katherine - when I took the Provera it actually made my periods heavier, so I don't know. Maybe your body's just taking longer to lose all of the hormone?

My doctor has said 100 mg clomid next time (the nurse called in a rx yesterday). Of course, first I have to see what this time gets us, since I still have a week, maybe more depending on what the clomid does to my cycle. It can lengthen your lp, right?

Hey all, just stopping in to say, nice thread Crystal, thanks ! My chart link is correct, I like the icon use.


We were all set to start the BD marathon last night when I felt suddenly sick. We had eaten some unusual homemeade birthday cake last night at a friend's house, I think it was the culprit. Anyways, I declined the lovin and this morning my temp is up a bit. I think it is too early to ovulate due to the clomid (its cd10 and I took it cds 3-7) but I made dh promise to meet me for a nooner while DD is at school today. I do not want to take any chances on missing O !
