February mamas, it's our month!

Just thought I'd start another weekly chat thread for us, since it's February 1st now! We have had quite a few birth announcements but we still have tons of mamas waiting to meet their little ones still! Hopefully we all give birth this month and don't have any stragglers that end up in March!

So, to start off conversation, does anyone have any preparations left to do? Have all your birth supplies ready? Washed and folded all the clothes and diapers? Do you have anything left to buy?

I've got all the really important things like clothes, diapers and a well-stocked kitchen but I still want to buy a diaper bag, a baby bath tub and a Britax. I have a diaper bag but it's stained and smells. I have a tub but it's been through three kids and I want a new one. I have an infant car seat but it's almost 4 years old. We'll see which arrives first, the baby or my tax refund!

Oh that lovely tax refund! I get to FINALLY do dh's tomorrow! Just got the last W-2 today of course!

I got my car seat today from my family filled with all of my well used gender neutral gowns, baby hats, and a few baby towels. I need more CDs but those will have to wait until tax return time. I finally got everything I think for the birth and just last night braided the embroidery floss for the cord. I need to sterilize the scissors and braid and also wash some of our old towels to birth on but those are all in house so easy to do. I need to get something that resembles a peri bottle and I just ordered today some herbs to make a PP bath for me and baby! I hope that gets here in time. I just realized today that if I have a boy I have no clothes for him! My sis has all my hand-me-down boy stuff and I think she has misplaced it. She is having a boy so I guess it really doesn't matter anyway. This better be a girl! I am as prepared as I probably will get this time and much more laid back about nesting since there just isn't much I can do about it at this point but try to keep the house livable. I am still in a lot of pain but it is easier to take knowing it is closer to being over.

2 days til my due date! Yippee!

i have sooo much to do! i need to wash the nb nappies again -- my mom is bringing over loads and she's not washing those so i'll have more to do when she arrives. i also have lots of prep for her arrival but she's not fussy, mercifully. i just want to get some floors washed and it's not easy with ds. he doesn't know about the top floor of our place so i can't bring him up there to "help" me the way i can with other chores around the house.

right, so wash nappies, i need to get one of those bath propper-upper yokes (we'd borrowed one last time), order the berceau, get a nursing pillow (also borrowed one last time) and i think that's about it. oh yeah! i have to pack my bags -- that's right, bags : -- for the clinic. i'm in total denial about it though, i think if i pack then he'll come out.

i wonder what i did with my nappy bag...i've forgotten about all the stuff one needs with a little person. i'll probably just use an ancient messenger bag that's gone everywhere with me.

Honestly, I think we are ready for the baby to come Clothes and diapers are washed, car seat is installed, co-sleeper is set up and ready to attach to the bed, bag is packed, etc.

But, I have a report for work that I really should finish before baby comes. I've been working painfully slow on it - I think I must have a lurking suspicion that as soon as I finish it, baby will show up. My goal is to finish that this week! There's a full moon coming and they are predicting temps around -20F - perfect time for baby to arrive!

i am scurying around this morning picking out music, putting gowns, diapers and washclothes, extra candles, etc in the birthroom.

last night i had contractions lasting about 1 minute every 4-6 minutes for about 2 hours... so we were wondering if last night was it. when i rolled over they pretty much petered out, but it seems it won't be long now.

Oh I so hope the full moon does something for me. I know, I know, my due date is *still* 4 days away but I am so.over.being.huge. Seriously. And my SPD is back in full, horrible force. And I don't want to leave my house but I'm SO bored. And every single time I gasp or wince people are staring at me probably wondering if it's labor. And complete strangers have been asking about the status of my cervix? Um, hello, weird!
Not to mention the whole being wide awake at 5am for no other reason other than being hugely pregnant and just plain not being able to sleep anymore. My boys will be up any time now, too late to go back to bed. Sigh.

I still need to clean up the car seat and wash the linens for the cosleeper... I need to pack a bag for myself and one for DS as well. (I did start lists though!) I should also go over the birth plan again and change anything that needs changing. Otherwise it's the usual maintenence here - clean toilet, wash diapers, put away clean laundry, dishes, etc.

My husband said people at his work have been asking about me. I told him to tell them to shut up.

Well - I'm so grumpy and unhappy right now. I know it's only a matter of days/possibly a week or more but it seems like forever. I'm short with the kids and dh, can't be the mom I want to be, I'm tired, you all know the feeling, I know!

My best friend had borrowed our co sleeper and is bringing it by on Sunday. Not that it's essential for baby to be born so she can feel free to arrive at any time, LOL. Birth supplies are ready, I think, diapers and clothes are ready, I'm going to go grocery shopping again today. Stocked up last week but with this family that doesn't last long We are having seat belt issues in the last seat of our van which we don't need now but will when baby arrives so I'm getting those fixed today. Taxes are done but I want to efile and you can't do that until the third so I have to wait. I have two February bdays (my oldest and my current youngest) so I would like to get their gift purchased this weekend. Activities, activities, activities - so many still going on. Birthday parties, music lessons, art class, homeschool activities. It's enough to make me want to dig a hole in the back yard and not come out. I hate to skip out on them now, though, b/c I'm not doing any of them for at least 2 - 3 weeks after baby arrives.

Phew - guess i needed to unload. Thanks for this thread. Good luck Feb. mamas! I've never given birth on the full moon but would love to! I have a prenatal massage tonight. Maybe she'll hit some pressure points and start me up.

Hi mamas! Lurker here. I wanted to drop in and congratulate all the mamas who have had their babies...Enjoy your babymoon! I can't believe it's February already! I still have quite a bit to do...waiting on that tax return! It should be here soon. I'm 36 weeks and 4cm and 50% effaced. With my youngest I was 5 cm and effaced (don't remember how much) for 5 weeks before he came (in under 4 hours) two days before his due date. So I could have a few more weeks left and that's what I'm hoping for so I can finish what needs to be finished and buy things we still need. Our baby girl still needs a name...we did finally narrow it down though. Good luck on your births...hope all goes nice and smooth and fast for everyone!

I need to make a trip to a medical supply store and get a few things for the birth, dollar store for a shower curtain, & goodwill for towels. (I may just do this tonight.) I also need to finish crocheting her blanket and make a hat. We also need to have a list of names for baby girl. We are still searching.
Clothes (the ones I want her to wear first), diapers, blankets, etc. are all ready in a basket in our room. I have a few meals in the freezer for us, too.

I'm due next Wednesday and feeling pretty good. For the last week I was up every hour peeing- the last two nights in a row 5 hours of sleep! I'm a little worried the baby has moved into a bad position. I'll have to ask my MW on Monday.

Still preparing for the babe- diapers and clothes are washed and ready- but we still need to install the carseat :, set up the co-sleeper, and re-arrange the master bedroom. I still need to pack a bag for the hospital.

Also, I am not ready at all to leave work (maybe I should be working instead of lurking on MDC ) and DH finishes his class on Monday night. After that, we are ready for baby.

I think the first thing Julieanne said to me this morning when the alarm went off was "Happy February!". We're getting excited!
It feels so nice, I woke up this morning to the sun shining for the first time in several days, and thought "it's February!" I think it will help my mood a bit.

I'm about as ready as I'm going to be for baby. Everything's washed and laid out, birth supplies here, etc. I really don't think my house will be clean before the baby comes. I'm soooo very tired right now I can only do a few small things at a time, and with three kids and two shedding dogs it takes more than that to maintain a clean house around here

I really really need to stock up on groceries, but I just can't bring myself to brave the store with all the kids in tow. DH works so late these days that I'm too tired by the time he gets home in the evening, so I'm planning on doing it Sat. If baby wants to come before then, that's ok though (hint, hint) I'll just send DH with a list and hope for the best. I'm sooooo ready to be done!

I feel so ready and prepared for this little one to come. I've done all the laundry, set up all the fun stuff, gotten last minute purchases, etc. But don't feel bad mamas who have a lot to do....I've been out of work since Christmas and this is my first.....so what the h*ll else did I have to do???
We're totally ready and just enjoying these last days/weeks. I spend my time mostly on the phone with all the "are you havin' that baby?" conversations.
HEY GUESS WHAT??? It's February!!!!! AWWWWW!!! Our babies are coming!!

I've been lucky. Nobody calls me to ask if I've had the baby. I do have one friend on MySpace that sends me a message if I don't log in and update my blog every day.
Nobody's asking me yet, either. But I still have a ways to go, I fully expect the calls to start as soon as I'm done with daycare. I feel like I still have quite awhile yet, and in a way that's okay with me. Although I am really anxious to see if my intuition is correct and I'm having a little girl, and I can't wait to have a new baby to nurse and snuggle again. Plus it will just be nice to have this humongous belly gone so I can snuggle my other kids as well!

Let's see- we have the clothes, diapers, bottles, baby carrier and other small things. The major things I need are the car seat and crib. But according to my mother, my sister bought me the seat and my mom took care of the crib so I should be getting both this weekend. Other small things I need are a baby bathtub, baby bag and maybe some more clothes for baby but since we did not find out the sex I think most of our family is waiting until birth to see what they have to buy.

My husband and I just finished cleaning my stepdaughter's room to make space for the baby this past weekend and I cleaned the rest of the house today- mopped the floors, cleaned the bathroom and dusted.

So I am good right now in case baby decides to come on time....
