February Law of Attraction - Page 6

Oh totally!... and thanks for the compliment by the way :

Speaking of the reflection in the mirror thing, I do that too -- not those exact words, but it is no secret (pun intended har har) why our 20 month dd walks around telling people she is fabulous (she is too )

Check this out... so there I was, playing the prosperity game, and doing my "100 things."

As it happens, one of my 100 things is a CD burner, which I really don't want to spend 40 or 50 bucks on, because the tech is changing... so I was on NewEgg looking up the price for the game, and I found one for 17 bucks! :

And, for all intents and purposes, it looks like a good one, even. Wow!

How does the Law of Attraction fit in with mindfullness and the "power of now"?

I am manifesting huge enormous things right now, and I can feel major shifts taking place in my life. Like fek&fuzz mentioned with her attorney-ing, as it is actually starting to happen I am getting a little freaked out and nervous. can it do this, what did i get my self into, etc.
So to banish these negative thoughts of doubt and fear, I have been focusing on how joyful I will feel after I have accomplished these things. And feeling it like it is real and here now. That switch from negative to future positive seems to be working (but is a lot of mental work: ), but today I started wondering how all this living mentally in the future fit in with other awsome things I have studied like living in the Now.

your thoughts, oh wise manifesting mamas??

My mother is a super negative person and when I was growing up, she was unable to be happy for others (even her friends) and when people talked about anything good in their lives, she felt they were bragging.

BTW, working on this stuff is bringing up all sorts of strange things for me. I know that it is all part of ridding myself of resistance and I'm excited about it. It's like therapy, but a lot more fun.

Well, I think we have those moments of being really excited and feeling what it's like having it NOW....and then we continue to be grateful in this moment and focus on loving where we are right NOW.

If you dwell too much on the future and live there, it will not serve you anyway. It is a really important part of the LoA to be happy right now, grateful right now and do things that you love doing so you are open to receive, right now.

your thoughts, oh wise manifesting mamas??
it is interesting isnt it - how you learn about all the different paths and then try to understand all of them and discover ur own path. the thing is if u go with the flow it will come to you.

for me personally i feel the LOA is a v. natural phenomenon. it is not something that u r starting off right now just because u just heard about it. it is something you have always done. yes now u r using it for everything but u have been unconciously using it right from the beginning. the key to LOA is not thinking. its the feeling adn the details. like if u walked into that situation u would recognise it - just like u have imagined it. along with teh feelings comes the action. when u set ur mind to something - like lets say u want to be a teacher - from what 8th grade u start focusing on what classes you want to take to make u become a teacher. u dream about teh future of ur own classroom but today right now u r focusing on how to become a teacher. kwim? when u really want something - be it a parking space or a new house - you start doing something now that will make it work.

and as you carry on on ur path - u will see how LOA changes for you. how u do it ur way the way that is true to you. because nothing happens if u try to force something on u. like LOA has evolved for me. how i did it a year ago is not the same how i do it now. how i did it a year ago was how i was 'taught' to do it. today i do it my way.

for me today teh key is detachment. i dream about it, i do my actions and then let it go. i kinda say it with a prayer. that lord u know this is what i want. i would love to have it. but its ok if it doesnt. it doesnt HAVE to happen. i dont conciously get up and 'think' about it. but its there with me all teh time. for instance i realy want a minicooper. i dont get up and dream about my minicooper when i am brushing my teeth. but everytime i see a minicooper i say there goes my car. i have even shared it with my friends and my dd's friends. and so now if u pass us in a mc u will hear my dd's 4 year old friend say hey meemee - look there goes ur mini pooper but its the wrong colour. they know i want yellow which is the colour of pee. in fact he saw a keyring with a mc and bought it for me. isnt that something!!!!

when i get too attached i find i get restless. like if it doesnt happen within a certain length of time i get antsy. that is when i learn i am getting too attached to teh end result and want it now. that's when i get stuck and i need to find my own space to get back on track. and mindfullness plays a huge deal in this. if u do anything with full attention and with respect you will never fail or get 'nothing' out of it - no matter how small or irrelevant it seems. i struggled with it earlier. but then i realised how much i was losing out if i wasnt doing it. so if i want to dream i sit down and focus and dream. i feel it with all my 5 senses. but when say i take a bath i enjoy the whole process. the feel, the sound, the smell. oh i cant tell u how much my life has changed with mindfullness. it has brought so much peace and inner joy in my life and an appreciation and greatefullness in my life.

ok gotta stop my ramblings here and go back to bed.

Help me start Manifesting! LoA, The Secret, etc.

Hey mamas!

I know there’s already a bunch of threads going on about this, but I just have so many questions and so much I want to know that I decided to be selfish and start my own. I just watched The Secret a few nights ago, and it resonated so much with me. I have manifested so much in the past without even realizing it! I also have usually had an attitude of “Everything is going to be fine” and it always works out great for me. I have been so enjoying reading everyone’s success stories!

But right now I am in a very weird place and having trouble getting started on manifesting everything I want, mainly because I’m not entirely sure WHAT I want. I have already started a Gratitude Journal, and trying to keep telling myself how happy I am and what a great day I am going to have each day when I wake up, but I kind of feel like my heart’s not in it yet. Help me remove this blockage!

Here are my main two questions:
How do you manifest things when you can’t visualize exactly what you want?
How do you reconcile a belief in Law of Attraction and manifestation with a belief that God/The Universe/Whoever has a plan and “if things are meant to be, they will happen”?
I don't want to visualize something that may not be the right thing for me. I don't think I always know what's best!

1) LOVE - I just broke up with someone -- we weren’t dating very long and I REALLY don’t think he was my soul mate, but I ran into him with another girl and I haven’t been able to stop thinking about it. I know I am totally fabulous and if he didn’t recognize that then it’s his loss, but I can’t keep them out of my head and then I get all down. All this negativity is really blocking my visualizations. (Meanwhile I met someone Friday night and I like him a lot! But I still keep thinking about the ex-- I guess it just feels unfinished)

I haven’t been too successful in love the past few years… I have a hard time meeting guys I like and when I do, they are usually commitment-phobes or just not that interested in a relationship. My best friend also says none of them are good enough for me, and I tend to agree. I guess I am attracting the wrong kinds of guys.
I would really like to manifest my Soul Mate - how do I do that?

2) MONEY - This area is actually really good. I am more than happy with my current financial situation, but I would like to manifest a way to invest my savings to earn lots of interest. My money is just languishing in a savings account because I am too afraid and un-knowledgeable to invest it.

3) CAREER - I am a teacher right now - I love my students, I love my co workers, but I don’t want to do this forever. I hate dealing with all the BS related to public schools and I hate having my supervisors come in for 45 mins 3x a year and tell me what I’m doing wrong. I THINK my dream is to enter a PhD program and study children’s emotional development, eventually write a book and be the new Dr. Spock (or Dr. Sears LOL), but I am not totally sure. The only thing I really know I want is to have babies and be a SAHM for a while and home school, but I also want my own career path on the back burner.

4) LOCATION - I don’t want to stay in NJ but I have no idea where I want to go.

5) OTHER PEOPLE - how do you deal with wanting things for other people in your life? I know it's not fair to manifest things onto them, but I want them to find peace and happiness.

I have been learning so much from you all... I requested the "Ask and It is Given" book at the library, and getting the daily emails from the Universe. What other books/resources can you recommend that may help me?

Oh, p.s. do you think I could manifest some flowers? They would really cheer me up right now.

I didn't know we weren't supposed to start new threads... mine has been merged in! (And we DON'T need a sub-forum?? LOL)

Thanks again for your help

If you listen to Esther Hicks/Abraham speak about the Law of Attraction, they say that you can't help but launch rockets of desire all the time. We are always asking for things, even if we are not consciously aware we are doing it.

Even if you can't think of specific things right now...I'm guessing you want to be healthy, happy, etc. Those are all things you are creating. Manifesting doesn't have to be 'big' or be material things...sometimes it's as simple as creating a peaceful existence right now.

YOU do know what is best for you. There is no giant plan you are following...you are creating your life as you go along. And even though your conscious self may not know what is best for you....your soul/higher vibrational self does.

"If things are meant to be, they will happen." To me, this means, if I choose to manifest something that is truly in alignment with my entire self (conscious and soul level) it will happen easily. If not, it won't.

It takes us a bit of time to heal from a loss. Allow yourself some breathing space, look back at the gifts in the relationship and time will help you move on. Usually when I feel unresolved with someone it's because I haven't reconciled for myself why it was not everything I want and deserve.

I think you just found something specific to manifest!!!!! Get clear about who you are and what you really want. The few relationships I have had recently were with men who were just out of their relationships and not really ready to move on. I now say to myself...."I am with someone who is ready for me, get's me and is ready to create a long term relationship." From every experience, there is something to grow from. The first thing to do, when manifesting, is to recognize that which we DON"T want...then we can know what we DO want.

Again, this is another very specific thing for you to manifest. Ask for guidance to find someone with investement knowledge, honesty and ethics to guide you in your investments.

See, now I don't believe at all that you don't know what to manifest in your life! Focus on what you want. Start moving in the direction of the PhD program and see if it happens with ease or is a struggle. Start manifesting babies and being at home.

Be open. Listen and watch for signs. If an opportunity to move arises...check in with how it makes you feel and decide from there.

Everyone is on their own journey. If you truly want people around you to find peace and happiness, live there yourself and they will see your example.

Of course you know exactly what you want. We all know exactly what we want...

We all want to be happy.

So... close your eyes, imagine a place that is a sanctuary for you. Mine is a waterfall in the rainforest. So, I'm going to use that as an example...

Here we go. When you're done reading this, you're going to do this in your own sanctuary. Be that a place you used to play as a child, or the beach, or high on a mountaintop, it doesn't matter... it just must be a place of joy and peace FOR YOU. I'm going to go forward wth the tropical waterfall, you're welcome to use it if it resonates with you. If it doesn't, then do the same thing, but with your own place:

Close your eyes. Go to your sanctuary. You are completely naked here, yet totally safe. No one will see you, no one will interrupt you.

Lay down in the grass beside the pool at the bottom of the falls. For a moment, in your mind, close your eyes and feel the prickling of the grass under your back. Feel the sun on your skin, caressing every part of you. It cleanses you, warms you, and loves you.

Notice the spray of the water as it gently caresses you with a soft coolness that contrasts with the warmth of the sun. Curl your fingers in the dewy grass as the sun touches you with life and comforting warmth.

Now listen to the sound of birds in the forest, and hear the roar of the falls. Let the comforting sounds wash over you, telling you that you are completely safe. The oddly rythmic yet constant sound of the water sooths and comforts you, deepening the sense of peace that you feel here.

The scents of exotic flowers fills the air, mingling with the smell of fresh water and moist earth. You smell a vague waft of the scents of your childhood that were your favorites, accompanied by a gentle touch of warmth that softly caresses across your cheek, a loving touch from nature.

And as you lay there, feel the Earth move. Sense it embracing you, carrying you upon its surface. Sense the growing of the grass, feel the warmth of the Earth beneath that. Then see the earthworms burrowing, depositing oxygen and fertilizing dung.

Then, open your eyes, and look straight up. As you do so, see the bird, so far up in the sky, lazily turning circles as the waterfall roars beside you. Watch as he skims a cloud that's shaped like a puppy's head, before he banks away and vanishes behind the trees.

Feel the happiness and joy and comfort that this place provides for you. Allow that peace to envelop you like the arms of nature herself.

Isn't this the feeling you want to have all the time? So manifest it.

God wants us all to be happy. No matter what else we might manifest, that's the cheif thing right there...underneath everything, no matter our "purpose," the main thing that God wants for us is happiness.

You are God's child. Just as your highest ambition for your child is happiness, the same is true of God.

Whether you homeschool, or you send your child to private school, or you send your child to public school... your intent is to love them and hopefully see them happy adults one day. What could possibly make you happier than seeing your child happy (as a parent)?

So... how can you make God happy? BE HAPPY! Just as your highest ambition for your child is their happiness, a life of peace where they can do the things that make them feel joyful and fulfilled... the same is true of God for you!

So go forth and be HAPPY!

Control your mind. When these thoughts come up, tell them, flat out, "STOP!!"

Let that word fill your mind in a great shout. STOP this STINKING thinking! Go immediately to your sanctuary, and feel joy. Start singing your favorite song. If you're at home, start dancing, and imagine yourself dancing with Fred Astaire or Brad Pitt. Someone that really "rocks your boat."

You say you can't stop, but you can, you simply choose not to. Something in these thoughts gratifies you. Perhaps you are holding onto the resentment because you feel entitled to it.

Go get a Roth IRA from www.janus.com and a money market account. They'll walk you through how to do it. They're one of the best.

You stop doing that. All you can do is to imagine YOUR OWN relationship with them as being positive. Anything other than that means you are intruding too much onto their personal freedom of choice.

A couple more points in the "God has a plan for me" idea.

First, when I think of my baby being happy as a grown woman, I don't put limits on it. "You'll grow up to be a doctor, and be happy," or "You'll grow up to be a mechanic and be happy."

No, I just want her to grow up and be happy, doing whatever it is that makes her happy.

Now, I think a lot of that comes from the idea of, "I'm meant to help people," and then we tack onto that, "but God has to tell me in exactly what way."

How we limit ourselves and God! Do we honestly believe that God can't bring people who need the kind of help we can give them into our path? Look at us, here we are, helping each other... and yet none of us even KNOW each other's professions!

I could be a janitor, or a toilet cleaner, for all you know. Yet, here I am, doing my best to help you. Perhaps I am a stay at home mom. Or the CEO of a Fortune 500 company.

No matter where you are, or what you do... you come into contact with people.

What you do about that has nothing to do with your profession, and everything to do with who you are and how you choose to react to the needs you see in the people you meet.

If you see someone sitting on the side of the road rubbing their ankle, will you pass them and ignore them, because you are not a doctor? I will assume that you're a normal person, and say, "NO!" You will stop to offer assistance, "Can I call the ambulance? Do you need anything? Are you okay?"

If they can't walk, someone to call the ambulance might be FAR MORE assistance to them than a doctor who can do nothing until the person can get an x-ray (or whatever) anyway!

So don't limit yourself to finding the right place to help people from. You could wait a lifetime...
