I am so happy and grateful that I have somewhere that always makes me smile (our thread!)

I'm so happy and grateful that I got so much work done this morning.

Grateful for my friends' encouragement of my efforts at opening the educational fund

I like bonfires, too, Melanie. I have such elated memories of singing around the fire at camp as a kid. I love singing so much.

Gratitude lists *always* raise my vibration! REading them too!

So, is there a good career choice (part time, from home ) for us planners? I can't for the life of me figure out what my 'talent' is. But I do like to research and plan.

How about a party planner? Wedding planner? (um, maybe not.) But a party planner would be fun!

i know i just randomly jump in here, but i read almost all the posts so i feel like i know yall

i'll go ahead and introduce myself. I'm Carrie. I'm a midwife (not currently practicing--i'm finishing up my masters in public health right now), married to a chiropractor, have 3 wonderful children ages 6, 8, and 10. I know SHannonCC from another website--hi Shannon! I am one more of those people who have known about the power of our thoughts for a long long time, but kind of forgot about it until a few months ago. reading the secret and loa threads have been great daily reminders for me. i also love HayHouse radio.
we're getting ready to build a house on a beautiful piece of property, and i am excited about actively using LOA for that process. also, a friend and i just got a grant to start up a non-profit to provide doula services for low income women, and we're using LOA for that too

Did I mention that I'm also really good at making excuses?

I don't think I'd make a good party planner. I wouldn't even really know how to go about planning my own party. Well, I put a pretty good party on for my boy's 7th birthday, but it was STRESSFUL - and that was for a bunch of easy-to-please kids (over 30 of them, though!).

Weddings :Puke
I did very little to plan my own wedding.

Any other ideas you want me to shoot down?

You know what I want? I just want an hour or two by myself to just doodle. Draw stuff with my fancy markers I never use. Or make collages. Like all the vision board stuff I cut out and never glued together. I'm not looking to paint an oil portrait or write an opera, I just want to do *something*. And it would be fun to do it with someone else

Just a book I need to inter-library loan it and I'm very phone shy but I got on that thing and called them and ordered it. I don't think I could work at my library. I'd have to shut my mouth to stop telling them how to do things the "right" way.

So, you making that call?

I don't know much about astrology (all the rising stuff is lost on me) but, uh, yeah, I'm a Virgo . As in, born in September : That's pretty funny, huh?

Hula, wedding planner When I was putting together my wedding (oh so long ago) I thought how fun it would be to plan weddings as a living. Mine was low budget and modest but how cool would it be to plan one of those huge, 40K affairs? Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm, just thinking about it. But that wouldn't be totally from home (and it would involve the phone - I hate talking on the phone).

hula, your post was a favorite of mine today. I just laughed after each response of yours. Thanks.

Welcome Sepia! I totally agree with you! I'm planning on putting together the thoughts/plans for a workshop doing this and similar activities, but I have no desire to actually sell/make/supply scrapbooking supplies. But if anyone else out there does that kind of thing, I think this would be a groovy addition to the offering!

Ok all you astrology buffs... Is it the Virgo that brings out the planner, or holds back the doer?

Are you sure we're not the same person? I also, hate hate hate, the phone. Well, I mean, up until now I've always hated the phone.

And I'm not so bold in person either, with certain things. I've walked around the library many times, just waiting for the employment listings to jump out at me. So far, it's not working. I may have to use my new love of the phone and actually call someone.

I love our library. Maybe I'm a little nervous that if I actually worked there, I wouldn't like it so much any more.

You know, I was thinking about how good my life is right now. It really is and yes, I'm grateful I love my husband, I love my kids, I love being home with them, I love homeschooling. I'm grateful for my wonderful marriage, I'm grateful for my kids, I'm grateful for being able to be a SAHM, I'm grateful for being able to homeschool. I don't want to change any of that, I just want *more* on top of it. But I love what I already have

I just had to put that out to the universe in case I sound ungrateful and unappreciative of what I have because I'm not. I'm very, very, very blessed

I actually hate the phone too. I never ever pick it up when it rings. Email me or wait for my bi-yearly phone chat.

! Yes, one of us is just posting under the other's name, huh? Is that why we're never in the same room together? I'm sort of bold in person but have this phobic thing with the phone if it's not someone I know really well. Is that you too?

I like my library I just have some issues and I know if I worked there they would bug me too much (plus once you work somewhere you sort of lose the priviledge that a customer has, kwim? Right now I can tell them what I think they are doing wrong and they have to politely listen to me even if they have no intention of following my fantastic advice, )

I do have a fantasy of being a librarian someday when my kids are grown though. I'm, uh, not a people person though so maybe working with the general public isn't a good idea. I'd rather work with the books

Me neither but I do know a bit about the Sun Signs so I'm not at all surprised. Virgos are nit-picky anal, detail oriented planners. (Saying that w/! and I'm a stubborn Taurus on top of it all.) Look out. :

So, you wanna come over and color sometime? : Our apartment is small, but we've got lots of artsy stuff kicking around!

I have to do do it a difficult and more complicated way (having Firefox tabs really helps out )...I find that if I multi-quote the "right" way, I forget what I was going to say in reply to that post.

Me too! I don't get people who don't like to email (and check it on an hourly+ basis). What's up with that?

And I think Caller ID is the best invention EVER!!!!
(after the Internet, of course)
