Adoption agency warning

I know most of the moms here are already through the adoption process, but in case anyone here is considering it or is not yet through the process, I thought I'd drop a warning about Reaching Arms International in New Hope, MN. They're currently under investigation by the state attorney general.

My friend is one of the families involved in this and the grief this agency has put them through is horrible. They've been sent pictures of the girl they were supposed to adopt, but when you put the pictures in chronological order you can tell it's not even the same baby. Even the birth certificate she was sent is forged.

Yeah, and then they try to say some of the parents have anger issues and probably aren't fit to be parents. : Bullsh!t. What irks me is that my friend has been pounding on the door of the attorney general for months, but they only sat up and took notice when they found out Dateline wanted to do a story on the whole situation. Can't let the state have any bad press, you know.

Wow, that's too bad. I have an acquaintance at church who used this agency last year. They adopted two children from Guatemala, and didn't have any issues with the agency.

I saw the report on the news, since it's local for me. It'll be interesting to follow the case and see what they uncover.

Yep... I did a lot of research on adoption.com before we chose our agency....RAI was one of the agencies that many told us to stay away from.

We happened to see it on out local news as well, its too bad. I felt awful for some of the couples waiting, especially ones who had already visited their child. I'm hoping they do a follow up or something in the future.
