Yes I can crawl. And so can my babe. She can cruise also. Pulling up on furnture and moving about.
you crack me up. And cruising! I'm impressed.

Did anyone answer your tylenol question? Is it too late - I am so behind on this thread it might be outdated, but yes, you can definitely take it even if you're giving it to her directly. You could, if you prefer, use ibuprofen and tylenol alternately - one for each of you or something.

Weekly is fine with me - I don't mind either.

I don't get it about the solids for a small baby who is otherwise very healthy and active. I'm no doctor, but this kind of stuff makes me so skeptical. Does your baby WANT solids? I can barely get K to swallow a quarter teaspoon of anything. Of course, I'm not trying baby food - just banana or potato, but he's just not into it. I think some babies really aren't yet.

eta joyofbirth, I just realized I still haven't sent any 3T clothing. At this point, I feel like I should check if that's still the right size! I will get it out soon.

momtophr-- WHERE did you get the Superman diaper cover??!! Too cute.

Ds1 is sick with a cough, and ds2 is still cranky over his new teeth. We were up at 6ish this morning. Except for dh, who is still asleep. : I swear, if a train came through the room, it wouldn't wake him up. Or he would pretend not to wake up so that he wouldn't have to go investigate why there's a train in our room. And there were coffee grounds in my coffee this morning and I dumped it down the sink in disgust before I realized that we were out of coffee grounds. There's a Starbucks down the street from me, so if I get dressed, once dh is up at 10 like he swore up and down he would be (he works nights, so I try to cut him some slack), I can go buy myself some overpriced black coffee. Or I could give someone from playgroup a call and demand they bring their coffee grounds with them.
Ds2 also has zero interest in solids. I tried to feed him some banana the other day and he flat out refused it.
Fussy child and a diaper full of baby poop waiting to be rinsed out. Talk to you ladies later.

Yay for all the July mamas and your ability to make me laugh so very early in the morning.

Thank you for sharing the pics! They're so cute. LOVE the snowfella. I forget that you're down south, where snow doesn't stay. I hope they had fun!

this is the kind of comment I wouldn't have believed before I had three kids. How could someone possibly break their wrist and not know it? Yeah, now I have three kids. I could probably lose an appendage and not notice until I went to use it... Sorry to hear it though! I know I need at least three working hands. And thanks for sharing the pics - what cuties! Love the superman dipe as well.

my DH would do the same. The sleep thing comes up as an issue here approximately every weekend. We try to take turns getting up with the kids, who can sense it's a weekend and therefore they're up at 6:30 instead of sleeping like logs until 7:15, like they do on school days. On MY day to get up, I get up, take the kids downstairs, feed them, change diapers, make coffee, let the dogs out, and eventually sit down for my morning MDC fix. On HIS day, he'll lie in bed telling the kids to "hush" until I am so awake that I won't be able to get back to sleep anyway, and then half the time I end up getting up.

Oh the horror.

Here's my whine for the morning. Our back door (sliding) is completely frozen shut. This means that to let the dogs out, one must go out the side door, open up the frozen gate, herd the dogs into the backyard, close the gate, and go inside, only to reverse that cycle 10 minutes later. And if that's all I have to whine about, I'd say I'm in pretty good shape.

Jessica3, did you double check the medication in Hale's Medications and Mothers' Milk? Many things that you "can't" breastfeed while taking are actually medications that are compatible with breastfeeding. Sorry if you already checked, but I wouldn't want you to suffer if you didn't know there might be more information available!

Sorry about your coffee loss, AidansMommy.

Juice, about your whine for the day. I get mad when my van doors are all frozen shut in the mornings when I take ds to school. It's only happened twice this winter, but both times I was able to get the driver's side door open. I had ds climb through the front seat, shoved the baby seat up and over the front seats, and hoisted dd1 around into her carseat and buckled her while hanging over the driver's seat. Not majorly traumatic, but quite annoying.

Hope everyone has a fantastic day!

s to those with sick kids and a broken wrist! : I cannot imagine that one happening with three children. I can't afford to have anything else slowing me down.

I agree with you. She is certainly knocking down developmental milestones - although she still cannot sit unassisted!! She is quite into certain foods - she fell in love with broccoli today. Banana and potato didn't create much interest. Daddy's broth with tomatoes sends her into a frenzy, but unfortunately also brings her out in a rash!!

Here are my dds at Christmas and the developmental rockstar almost a month ago, now, plus the computer from which I talk to you now!

now they work but for some reason they're absolutely tiny!! How did that happen? And there've been loads more posts since I started this and dd who I assumed was asleep was actually closely examining the bookshelves!!!

I shall try again when i can!

I have a ridiculously small car with only two doors at the best of times!! Getting babies into car seats around a corner is a nightmare. I feel your pain.

Thanks for the tip, Quag, I will look at the WHO birthcharts (if they are online, anyway).

Juice, that was hilarious about possibly losing an appendage and not noticing!

momtophr - that is a lot less hilarious -however are you managing??

is this better?!

Sarenka, I just so happen to have those charts marked as a favorite.
http://www.who.int/childgrowth/stand.../en/index.html

Your dd's are just beautiful! A developmental rockstar, indeed! I can't believe some of you have babies that have decided to go vertical already! It's moving too fast for me. I am not ready to let go of my lap baby yet!

Also, I forgot to mention this earlier. I was making guacamole last night and dh was scraping what I missed out of the avocado and snacking on it. He just happened to be holding dd2 who grabbed his fingers and slurped off some avocado. It was just a small residual amount that he had from scraping it out with his fingers. It was so funny because she just froze while looking straight at me. Kind of like "This isn't what fingers are supposed to taste like."

Sarenka--beautiful girls!!! loved the pix.

aidansmommy--I truly feel for you with the coffee thing. I would do both: go to starbucks AND ask a fellow mama to bring you coffee.

newkelley--your boys are simply GORGEOUS, and those photos are hilarious. "when dh is in charge" had me laughin'. Really beautiful. Love the woolie pants he's wearing in the last photo, too.

The last few days viet has been staying with us (we're getting along currently) and we have this hilarious thing happen almost every morning. *warning* TMI content: do not continue reading if you get squeamish.
Viet's modus operandi for the CMP (comfortable morning poop) is to sit and read for like, half an hour. I am in & out of there so fast it makes one's head spin. So almost every day, I begin reading my MDC and sippin joe, when the need comes over me, and THERE HE IS, just sitting on the throne, and yes only one bathroom in this house. So I dance & prance around until he gets off, and we are both laughing our arses off because it KEEPS HAPPENING!

yeah i am thinking that i need the mask! considering I am the one usualy covered in baby food.

to the poster that was asking about food personally i would not worry about it they all do it in their own time. My middle son wanted nothign to do with baby food and didnt eat food until he could pick it up and feed himself. He is now a 32lb 2 year old so i dont think it slowed him down any now Reece he LOVES his food and will get so mad if you dont give it to him lol

Oh and the superman diaper came from Fuzzi Fannies www.hyenacart.com/fuzzifannies i actually ahve several appliqued dipes from her that are amazing. I am gonna try to get pictures of my stash togethor soon

YEah people who dont ahve 3 kids look at me like I am crazy. I dont have time to stop during the day much less sit around and think about an owie! LOL

I am doing good it actually feels much better now with a cast on. Luckily the older 2 are pretty much independant. However side snap diapers may be my downfall

Kelley and sarenka, I love the photos!

My MIL is here and she and DH have gone out to buy groceries so that she can make us a bunch of freezer food. I this woman.

Anyway, going to get some work done while they are out, but wanted to say hi!
Ethan is 6 months old today! I'll try to post some pictures later

And it is COLD here. In addition to my back door being frozen shut, I went down to the basement to check on my laundry in the dryer. I've mentioned it before - our dryer is dying a long, slow, painful death. So the first cycle gets everything to "damp" and the second gets it dry or near dry. I went down this morning to start the second cycle, and my damp clothes were actually frozen. Frozen clothing in the dryer. There's something kind of surreal about that.

Hi Maria! (Back to work now...off you go)

Tanya, thanks for the charts! I haven't managed to open them of course but my time will come. Or rather my dh will come home. Sad, isn't it...

Frozen clothing in the dryer? This must be a haiku. In fact I once wrote a poem about frozen washing on the line...arms all askew...!

Happy six months Ethan!!
arms all askew... yeah, it was pretty much like that.

So, anyone want to weigh in on a discussion of tangible/intangible in haiku-land? Comments welcome.

I downloaded this, which does the calc for you

http://www.who.int/childgrowth/software/en/

I plugged DD1's info into the individual assessment too and the percentiles were somewhat different from what her ped'ss office said they were!!

Sarenka, your babes are very beautiful! I thought of something else... did your DD1 have a similar growth pattern? If so that makes a lot of sense and seems perfectly normal that DD2 would follow in her footsteps, especially given those milestones!

And great pics momtophr!

I've been MIA for a while and am trying to catch up on all these posts. I have to ccomment on the low wight baby issue right now though. Last week DD went in for her 6 month check-up, and we were crossing our fingers for her to be up to 13lbs(double her birth weight). I quit my job to be home more often to BF since the bottle wasn't working out, and offer the breast at every fuss. we have also introduced carrots, sweet potatos, pears, apples, and bananas which she enjoyed feeding herself 2 times a daySo it's not like she isn't eating all the time. On top of it 2 weeks ago CFS came by because of low weight concerns. So the check up. She's jumping percentiles for hieght and head circumfrance, but for height she has dropped(and I mean dropped) off the charts. She was just ove 11lbs her last appointment about 2 months ago, and now at 6 months she is a whopping 11lbs 9 oz! The Dr isn't concerned but I am. She said to throw in an extra meal or 2 of solids. we have and according to the scale at the gocery store she is almost 12lbs in about a week. she is sitting, rolling, creeping, babbling, signing, and last week said Mumma! She's happy healthy and allert but for some reason BF just isn't enough for her. There's still plenty of milk there and she bf after her meals, then I pump the rest. Just thought I would share.
