I read this awesome comeback on other board..
if you are pregnant and someone asks if you will circ, answer:

"Only if it's a girl" :

I LOVE this!! What a great idea to get you point across while being funny ( and for those who are sensitive, I don't think FGM is Funny)

Hmmm...I'm not sure I'd answer like that--it makes it sound like you are for FGM... The one I usually use is:

"I believe in gender equality, and I wouldn't circumcise my daughter, so why would I circumcise my son?"

Well, I don't think so. The persn will know that I'm not serious about that, but will feel horror at the thought that I would cut a daughter, which I hope will let them see the parallel without so many preachy words...but we're all different!

If asked in person, I usually just give someone a funny look and say "Of course not - not my penis, not my decision" like it's not even an option to circ and they're strange for asking.

: That's exactly what I do. It's worked every time (the person asking the question has either backed off or asked to be educated about circ and why I would never allow that to happen to any child I was responsible for.

I have to say I generally give them the shocked 'looking like they asked if I'd have a limb cut off him' look. Or, I'll add shockingly, "they still allow that in this country?" :

Most people know I'm a bit of a science nerd, so they would apprecaite it .

I love the "they still allow that in this country?" bit! I'll have to use that one... everyone is getting boy vibes from my belly so I'm sure it'll come up once I start showing more (I hide pregnancy well till the third trimester apparently).

love and peace.

This makes me want to because it would really get people thinking, but it also makes me because little girls really do get circumcised. People in this country forget that.

I don't think that's very funny at all.

I can't wait for the next person to ask me the circ question. I've been rehearsing my answer in my head for a long time:

"F NO!!!" *with a terrified wild animal look in my eyes*

That'll teach 'em not to think of circ so flippantly.

"How about I take MY knife and chop off YOUR sexual organs!"

(Best I could think of right now.)

I almost always say: "Yeah, I'm not really into paying people to tie my kids down and cut their genitals up. and for what's it's worth, my daughter's not circumcised either."
Okay, I wouldn't say it - but I did laugh thinking about the shocked looks it would get!
