Safe carpet cleaner

I desperately need to steam clean my carpets. I usually just rent a steam cleaner and do it myself. Does anyone know where I can find a safe (non-toxic) carpet cleaner solution to use to steam clean?????

I use Earth Friendly carpet Shampoo. I think you can get it at www.ecos.com. I love the stuff and I have a bit of OCD with my carpets!

You can steam clean with just water too - I own a steam cleaner and I often use it just on the no soap setting. Plain water will get a lot of the dirt out.

We use this. It smells really good and you can get it pretty cheap from the Frontier Co/Ops. Works great! No crunchiness.

Hot water works wonders too.
