RO Filter AND Brita?

Thread Starter
We currently use a Brita faucet-mount filter, but we're moving to a house that has a RO filter for the kitchen sink. Would it make any sense to bring the Brita with us and use both?

TIA!

I really don't know. I can check a book I have that compares filtration systems and get back to you. In the mean time maybe somone else can help.

Reverse osmosis systems filter water through a very fine semi-permeable membrane whereas Brita uses a much less fine filter. Kind of like filtering your water through a colander (Brita) compared to a very fine mesh screen (RO). It would be a waste of your money to keep buying Brita filters if the water is already being reverse osmosified (I'm sure that's not a word!).

According to the book, Elson Haas' "Staying Healthy with Nutrition" the RO doesn't remove chlorine although it did remove everything else he compared fore. I'd suggest an internet on the subject to make sure of the facts.
