Help me get rid of clothes

My DD has sooo many clothes it makes my head spin. They fill her dresser and closet with some left in baskets. I know I need to get rid of some (most ) but everytime I try I think "what if she really likes that one" or "what if we don't have enough" and I just end up not doing it. So tell me how much clothes does a 4 year old really need? This is all me by the way, she could really care less what she is wearing HELP

I had the same problem with my DS. He had so many clothes they were in 2 dressers and half the closet with some left over in the hamper. I slimmed it WAY down. I went through them and freecycled all the clothes that were too small. The clothes with holes, tears or stains went into the trash. I separated winter/fall clothes from summer/spring clothes into 2 piles. I kept 10 "outfits" in each pile. That way he has 1 for each day and 3 extra in case of an accident. He has 2 "nice "outfits for special occasions. I did the same with shoes. He has 3 pairs. He has10 pairs of pj's since he hasn't mastered the whole nightime bathroom thing yet.I rotate the clothes depending on season. Example: The fall/winter clothes are hung up in the closet since it is winter. The summer/spring clothes are put into a drawer until summer time. Then when it's the next season, they are rotated. It works pretty well for us.
