How much would you pay? - Page 2

i am totally in agreement with everyone's cheapo sentiments!

i asked the question because it seems to be the norm that many people (especially ebay stores) will buy brand name lots at wholesale and then sell then at retail prices. so, apparently someone will by a gymboree outfit at full price from a consignment store, ebay, etc.

this is baffling to me, as i never pay retail for anything either!

I see that too and I'm baffled as well. I pass on those people. Also those who make shipping $5 to parcel post a onesie. Now, I just remembered one of my first eBay purchases: we just had to have this outfit and I think we paid maybe 75% retail. I was having a tough time finding the striped shirt. So I think that sometimes it depends on *what* the item is. We tend to collect things with frogs on them (in honor of one of our cats) and in orange (in honor of our truck and half of our own wardrobe).

What really matters is that you know your local audience - what would they pay?

Would you pay slightly lower than regular retail prices for a NEW with tags items in a resale store? For instance, Gymboree. Would you pay $17.50 for a $20.00 item that was new, with tags, current style, etc?
I wouldn't either. It's too easy to find them on sale for way less online. If I wasn't an online shopper, I might be willling to pay 50% of that price if there wasn't a store near me.
