Need deoderant suggestions

I no longer wish to use deoderant that has aluminum, so I bought an Alba aloe enzyme stick. I knew it might take awhile to "detoxify," but it's been three weeks and I still smell. I'm fine until about 2pm and then it starts. It's getting really frustrating. Maybe this particular brand just isn't working for me.

I'm headed to Wild Oats tomorrow (the only place I know of in town that *might* carry this stuff), any brands you'd recommend? Organic is great, but at this point anything that works is fine! Thanks!

The ONLY natural deodorant that I have tried that works for me is the Kiss My Face liquid rock deodorant in lavendar. I LOVE that stuff!!

FUNK BUTTER!!! This stuff is so incredibly awesome! You have to order it online, though, and it's about 7.50 a canister. But, it lasts a long, long time cause you only use a pea size amount on each underarm. www.oyinhandmade.com

the Crystal!!!!!! i LOVE it. seriously it kills all the bacteria in your pits, and inhibits growth of new bacteria (about a 24 hour period then its DONE) no smell, no mess, its clear, and if you WANT to smell fru fru then get some solid perfume and rub that under there as well.
i cant recommend the Crystal enough. LOVE it

I have a thing for the way Tom's of Maine Calendula smells. I don't remember how long my detox period lasted, but I switch between nothing and it. And I don't think I stink

I've always wanted to try the Funk Butter, but with shipping it is like $11.00 for me. Unless it does last a really long time, like a year, it would be worth it!

Thanks for the suggestions-we'll see what they have! If nothing else, I'll be ordering online.

Yesterday in the mail I just got my order of stuff including deoderant by Avalon Organics..it's lavender-scented. Haven't used it but it seems really nice!

I love Tom's of Maine, Lavender. I have tried the crystal, Jason's, and Young Living brands, all of which last only a couple hours. Tom's lasts all day, feels and smells great! I have also turned 2 other friends onto Tom's. One of them likes the apricot, and she always smells good.

I love Tom's of maine too! (unscented, calendula and Honeysuckle rose) BUT be careful using the long lasting toms of main that gave me a horrible rash. now I just stick to the natural line ~ it's cheaper anyway

I really like the Crystal - it doesn't feel like you have anything on. One tube is suppose to last a year, which I like since Im so cheap

Crystal user here Dirt cheap for us to buy (few $$$ here), and it lasts forever...even with DH and I both using it! I do get a funky period if I switch to a regular deo and then go back to it unless I give the pits a scrub with baking soda first. Then its fine. Even in my sweaty-hormonal postpartum period I still smelled like nothing HTH

I know Spastica uses coconut oil under her arms. I haven't tried that yet, but she swears by it!

I read about this here and have been doing it for a couple weeks. That and drinking 2 qts + of water and day and green leafys at least once a day. No stinkies at all, unless I go more than 2 days without showering. Since I use co in the kitchen as well I just scooped some out of the big jar and into a smaller container to keep in the bathroom.

Yep, I use unrefined, virgin coconut oil as my deoderant. I wash the area with BS, the spray with vinegar to kill all the bacteria. Then I dry well. I put a little coconut oil on my finger tips to warm up and smear it on my underarms. I haven't used deoderant in 2 weeks, no smell and I love it!!

Nobody ever mentions these aspects, but it's sooooo true! I recently started eating a high raw vegan diet and my b.o. totally disappeared...and I ate really well even before this! Maybe it's all the chlorophyll, I don't know.

My favorite natural deodorant is Jason (herbs and spices), not the roll-on but the other one.

It's actually $4.50 for a tin, and I also recommend the Funk.

I had a similar problem with deodorants not working. They actually seemed to amplify the problem.

For the past couple weeks I have been washing with BS in the shower, then applying a little more after the shower. It is working really well. I smell like nothing at the end of the day. I think washing with it is the key, as PPs have mentioned. Then you could apply deodorant, coconut oil, EOs or whatever, if you like.

Oh, and it's actually made the skin under my arms softer than it ever has been. Exfoliating effect, I guess.

I ended up going with the Kiss My Face Lavendar and it works! I am not digging the liquid, but as long as I don't stink I'll survive. Thanks ladies!

Am I doing something wrong?

Ok, since we're talking stink I'll share.

I am allergic to anything that looks like sulfur in the ingredients and have spent a lot of $ since July trying to find something to de-stinkify me. I started my search after regular deodorant started to not work.

I drink like 1 gallon of water per day and pee a lot, I don't eat spicy foods or a lot of garlic, I don't drink alcohol and I even take chlorophil tablets and still stink! I have tried the Thai crystal and it barely works, am I not using it right? Is there some method to the maddness? Right now I use the Burts Bees spray but hate the herbal smell and it stops working almost right away.:

Natural stuff isn't too cheap, so I'd like to avoid the pitfalls of buying stuff and being left with a whole thing (like the Tom's spray - sulfur allergy). What's the trick to destink? I 'm willing to hear solutions involving lifestyle changes.
