Anyone have a suggestion for a natural drain de-clogger?

Its not completely stopped up but drains really really slowly...I was able to pull a chunk/glob of yucky mess this am but still want something to break up the rest of it. thanks-

I would run a snake down the drain. Its messy but it works the best of anything IMO

I only noticed a mild difference when I tried it, but you could try baking soda and vinegar. Flush it down with hot water and let sit for several hours or preferably overnight without using.

That would probably be the most natural product you could use that will hopefully work.

This will not work for removing the clog (probably a snake is best for that), but for maintenance my DS "found" a perfect solution. When he started using the toilet and washing his own hands, he also started filling up the sink while washing his hands and playing for a while in the water. At first I was a bit annoyed, but then I started to notice that we were not getting anymore clogged drains (and we had a chronic problem with them in the bathroom). It seems that letting the larger amount of water flush quickly through the pipes is clearing them out very nicely. Since the playtime began, our sink has not had a clog!

So... It might be worth it to put down the stopper while washing your hands from time to time and let all the water drain at once. Either that, or let the kids start playing in your sink too.

Our kitchen drain was reallllly slow and dh just put the "snake" down the drain, and it's fixed! The Bac Out bottle says it helps with clogs, too, but I've never tried it.

I second baking soda and vinegar! We unclogged a toilet that way this winter.

Get a cheapo hanger, the kind from dry cleaners, and take out the connecting cardboard tubing. You will find that the ends of the the hanger has U-shaped hooks. Bend one of them into a "J" shape. Straighten out the rest of the hanger into a wide angle. Take the J shaped wire end and get down into the drain. Circle around the drain a little and pull. You should be able to get all kinds of nastiness out. My particular drain has little notches, so I get the hook in every notch until all the gloppy hairy mess comes out.

I wear gloves and put the mess into a wad of toilet paper and put it in the trash. I haven't used Drano or any other clog-removing agents since. I keep that hanger underneath my sink.
