Silly Diva Cup Question

This is going to sound like a stupid question, but I've examined my Diva Cup from top to bottom about a zillion and one times, and even after being directed to them I can't seem to find any of the tiny holes that I keep hearing about! Do you think it's possible it has a defect or something? (And yes, I have good vision! )

I just BARELY got mine (I have a thread about it a few topics down) and I didn't know where the holes were until they got filled with blood that didn't simply rinse off while I was rinsing the cup. They're tiny!

They're right under the ridge around the rim (or right in the ridge - can't remember without looking). Once a day I usually take a pin or something pokey and poke them clean. What exactly are the holes for anyway??

I believe it is to allow air through to help release the suction when you remove it.

I didn't notice them either till they didn't get clean when washing it. I don't do the pin thing through the holes to clean them, just spray water from the shower head and it gets them all clean.

Just wanted to add something - if I don't clean out the holes, I don't get a proper seal and it'll leak. I haven't ever had a single leak if I cleaned the holes out, though. I just squeeze them and the stuff comes out and then I rinse and wash as per usual.
