First I want to say congratulations on your blog and taking the steps to get your house less messy.

Second, I hope I don't offend you, but your house would be beyond my comfort level. I simply can't handle clothes on the floor and so much clutter. (sorry)

Good luck!! I'm gonna be checking back to see your progress!!

Wow! You've got your work cut out for you, but I think you can totally do it! I think starting a blog about it is a great start! I can't wait to see how it progresses!

I replied to your blog and I just wanted to post here that parts of my home are worse than these pictures. And the thing is, I'm a good person. A really NICE person. But my home and maintaining order is beyond me somehow. And it is not from lack of effort.

Also, there is a site called squalor.com if anyone is interested.

I'm in the same place you are, mama. Good luck to both of us!

You're not the only one!

I applaud your strength in posting this... My house is a disaster and since it's too cold to go outside and school is starting in a couple of weeks {my school} my project for today is to get all laundry done and all un-needed items in boxes for Goodwill, Trash or the shredder.... It's not really bad-bad, but I wouldn't be brave enough to post pics.

You can do this! I too am working on this. I am at the point that with an hours notice I am ok with having pretty much anyone come over. It may not be perfect but it is something I am ok with. Also to make sure I keep it up my mom comes over every weekend for our family movie night. My mom has seen our house at it's worst but just knowing she is coming over really helps me not let it get too bad.

Good Luck.

Just want to add some more encouragement Remodeling or fixing up an old house is a lot of work, I've been there. Start slow, clean up one spot, take one small step at a time. You can definitley do this.

Charmcity -

I just wanted to let you know that I'm checking your blog and pulling for you. I think it's brave to post pics and ask for feedback, and I applaud your efforts. I also think it's important to do this for your kids, who will only learn how to live from you!

Take it one step at a time, one room at a time. Don't worry about decorations or projects or anything beyond obtaining regular, consistent view of the floor and surfaces, in one room at a time. I would make a zone schedule (have you read the FlyLady site?) and tackle it bit by bit. Mondays you clean one zone, Tuesdays the next, etc...it will take several weeks but in the end it will work if you stick to it.

I'll be checking your blog and wishing you well!

I'm checking your blog too! You go girl!
i think flylady is way overwhelming. you might consider checking out motivated moms. i know you probably have a huge desire to fix everything ASAP, but it really does happen the most effectively bit by bit.<3

Hope the blog helps. I can't wait to see the progress!
