Inexpensive mineral makeup?? - Page 5

There are several brands out there. I use pure luxe. http://pureluxecosmetics.com/home.php
It is great for oily skin. If you have oily skin tell her when you order and she will add more clay to the mix. Lots of colors great and samples and inexpensive.

I didn't know that you could order more than one sample kit!
I ordered 3 or 4 sample packs before I made my purchase.
I was pretty happy with mineral makeup, then I bought a good foundation brush and now I LOVE it. A good brush makes so much difference.

I used the Everyday Minerals for the second time today, and it was ok. I like how the concealer covers my undereye circles, but i went jogging right away, and walked for a few hours so in less than 6 hours it had completely disappeared, even the blush. Paired with the fact that it really doesn't help my skin texture, I think I will try that liquid mineral make up that i saw in the MAD website next.

And for some reason we don't keep cornstarch in the house, so I haven't been able to try and see if it works for me!

Anybody know anything about Signature Naturals? I am waiting for an order from them and they look good to me but I really don't know anything about mineral makeup yet.

Anybody?

I'm eyeing the sunscreens of the mineral make up for occasional use. Anyone use these? Any advice?

Discount code for Everyday Minerals. For the rest of May, 10%
off everything using discount code: wqzaJb at checkout.

I just got another sample kit (the last one I got we're all too light), a
couple brushes, some sifters, and 2 eye shadows for $17.50.

That discount was announced only a couple of days after I ordered stuff! Argh!
I have also recieved eyeshadow samples from Alima and LOVE them. They seem to stay on better than the EM ones (although I am very happy with my EM foundation)

I'm really loving my Everyday Minerals. I put it on with a powder puff instead of a brush and I feel like I'm getting better coverage and wasting less. My husband likes it, too. I've been letting my hair grow (it's blonde). The other day, we were sitting at a stoplight and he said, "You look really good lately, with your skin all clear and your Farrah Fawcett hair." Uh, thanks . He clarified that he meant the '70s Farrah.

I've been wearing everyday minerals for about 6 months. I am jus tnot 100% happy though. I have larger pores on my nose & it seems to make them appear larger. It seems to settle in the middle of my pores & acentuate them. Any hints or recs?

I read that silica such as Ronasphere or Silica microspheres are good for large pores and fine lines. But it scores 7 on skindeep website...

I'm marketing my competitor, but I heard good things about meowcosmetics.com. But they want $4.10 to ship a tiny 1/4 tsp sample!

If you haven't tried mine, I do have a free sample kit. Shipping is $2.50. http://www.ktnaturals.com/index.php?...roducts_id=102

I have large pores on my nose and cheeks, and it doesn't seem to accentuate or conceal them. YMMV.

Which "finish" are you using? I got the matte because I have fairly large pores, also. You don't want anything that's reflective because it accentuates shadows inside pores and wrinkles. For me, the matte works really well.

I have the same problem. I dusted a little Multi Tasking over my whole face when I was done
and it seemed to help. Recently I was talking to my cousin (a pro make-up artist for Sephora)
and she recommended Clinique Pore Minimizer Instant Perfector. I haven't purchased it yet,
but from what I have read it seems to be a miracle product for large pores.

Also the first time I tried my samples from EM I used too much and it really made my pores
look large. The second time I tried a lighter touch and my pores looked much better.

I am using the original finish. I tried the matte first, but didn't like it. Now I don't remember why. It has been several months. I think I will try the PP's samples.

I cannot say enough good things about Everyday Minerals. I got the Original Glow finish and I use the Silk Dust finisher. I look like I have no pores at all.

However, I use the brushes I got from e.l.f., so maybe that's part of it?

I've been doing some reading and found some good info! Appearance of larger pores could be due to applying too much powder.

If you're using a good kabuki brush, swirl the brush into just a little bit of powder (less than pea size), and keep swirling until you pick up all the minerals.

Because EM does not contain bismuth oxychloride, you don't need to buff the foundation into your skin. Just sweep using a downward motion. Apply a thin layer, wait a few minutes for the powder to settle, then apply another layer again if necessary.

You can also try a wet application method. After you swirl the powder into the brush, spritz a bit of water onto the brush and sweep downwards (I tried this today and LOVED it! My face looks flawless!).

You can also try a flocked sponge. Wet it, squeeze out all the water, dip into powder (in a jar lid or container), and apply downwards. I just bought these sponges to stock in my store.

Alternately, you can mix the foundation into your moisturizer for a liquid foundation.

Hope one of these helps!

Has anyone tried the new nuetraogena mineral makeup yet was wondering how that looks and if it is any good? thanks
post #97 of 126
I was using the circular motions with EM. I will try using less posder with sweeps. I also ordered the samples from KT naturals ( in semi-matte). I can't wait for it to get here.

I've tried both the Neutrogena and Loreal Bare Naturale, and I didn't like either. The
Neutrogena doesn't cover well and is messy to apply, you have to shake it to get the
powder out, and it's a pain in the a$$. The Loreal is very chalky and unattractive on
the skin.

I just tried the Everyday Minerals that everybody recommended here, and I couldn't
be happier. I love it.

PS - I might not like Neutrogena's mineral powder, BUT I love their mineral sheer eye
shadow and their wax free mascara (LOVE IT!!! NO clumps and very natural.)

I rarely wear makeup (and have never worn it on a regular basis), so lets just say that I'm not an expert when it comes to applying it. Will I be OK with Everyday Minerals? It seems that mineral makeup tends to be more difficult to apply. ??

I actually think it's easier. Like I said up-thread, I just use a little powder puff (that I got for like a dollar at the grocery store). It's so sheer and, well, powdery that I don't have blending problems or lines that show. This is what I do: moisturizer, mineral foundation (powder puffed on), maybe a little dab of the concealer under my eyes (powder puffed on), and the finishing powder (put on with a big brush and without any attention to detail). I sometimes put a little mascara on. That's it...takes me two minutes. I'm totally a low-maintenance kind of person and really only wear makeup because my skintone is totally uneven. Easy peasy.
