Let's have a party at my house! Who wants to come?

There are so many of you that I like so much and if we all lived close together, I would invite you over for a party. Since I can't actually do that, I thought we could just have fun imagining the perfect party!

My house if fine -- I love to have people over. You can bring your kids. My kids will be here, and they love to have other kids over to play. They have lots of open ended toys and share well. They also have a very cool fish tank. Our basement isn't finished and, while it doesn't seem nice to adults, kids love to play down there in the boxes left over from when we moved in and the Brio stuff (which my kids only play with when others come over).

I think we ladies should hang out and drink Sangria. I'll come up with a non-alcoholic fun bev. for those who are pregnant, nursing, or just prefer it that way. We'll use real wine glasses -- I have a bunch but they were cheap so I really don't care if one gets broken. I have a carpet shampoer so you really don't need to worry about you or your kids spilling things either. I would rather have a house full of fun, hip, cool mammas and their amazing APed kids than have clean carpet!

So tell me more -- what should we eat? What should we do? Who wants to come?

Let's plan it!:

Yippeee! DDs and I will come! Thanks!

Oh, and since it's a virtual party, that means that we can eat and drink whatever we want to right?

I want to come!!! I'll take a non-alcoholic pina colada. My boys would love to come over and explore new and exciting places like an unfinished basement. My 5 1/2 year old and 3 year old would be pretty inseparable; they don't segregate their friends according to age and love to play with mixed-aged groups of children. My 7 month old is pretty much attached at the hip and sometimes breast, so he'll stick close to me and I'll try to keep him out of my pina colada. So, are we listening to some totally cool happy/feel-good music in the background while we sit around and chat? Oh, and I'll run the carpet cleaner for you afterwards so you don't have to worry about it. I love helping clean up other people's houses much more than my own.

I'm in! I won't be here for long, but I would love a glass of champagne. Don't ask me why, but I have got some champagne cravings like crazy!

Can we have the party visit my house and do some cleaning? C'mon, it'll be fun. Really.

I'll be there! Mix me up a margarita! Linda, you look awesome... did you make that top you're wearing?

I don't have kids but I would be happy to play with everyone else's! I especially love holding babies if any of you mamas need a break

I can hear the music in the background... it's so cheerful, what is it?

I think we'll listen to a celtic CD that I bought in Ireland first, and then may be some Indigo Girls. What would you guys like to hear after that?

Why not? We could become a very continuum concept kinda gang -- hanging out and talking, listening to cool music, and tidying each other's houses!

and yes! I really enjoy sewing and recently have had more time for it! It's such a great mix of being creative and yet making something useful.

Me, me, me, I want to come too! :
DS is going on 3, and will join in the general ruckus, and find any and all toy animals that your kids may have, because he is all about animals.
I'll bring some spinach squares (a yummy cheesy recipe I got from my midwife), and on the sweet side, maybe another batch of the banana-oat-date muffins I made for breakfast today.

will there be dancing? I love to dance, and it has become far too rare a thing in my life.
