Born Feb. 1 at 9:59 am. 6lbs 10oz; 20.5in. dark hair and eyes. We named him William Pike
my labor story:
went to my doc appt on the 31st, did the nst baby was active and i was having contractions still only 10min apart. my bp was 142/105, so my doctor was worried that i was going to get pre-e. so she suggested i be induced the next day. of course i said yes. when they checked me in i was still only 3cm and 80%.
doctor came in at 8:30am on feb 1, started the pitocin and broke my water, she checked me and i was 5-6cm and 100% and zero station. so they started setting everything up. they had a feeling i was going to go fast since my last labor was only 3 hours. anywho, my contractions were fine, not painful at all. a half hour later they check me again. i was dilated to 7cm, 100% and still 0. i'm still fine at this point, not even considering anthing for pain. then it's just about 9:40 and bam, three painful painful contractions. she checks me i'm 9 just about ten. so no pain meds for me. right after she checked me i had to start pushing. i had my nurse and two student nurses, my doctor and a student doctor in the room plus my boyfriend. (they asked me if the students could be there, and i said okay) so the room was packed. i even said the student doctor could deliver the baby (her first time, she cried after he was out) they were all cheering me on, it was so funny how excited all these students were. three pushes later out comes my suprise! IT'S A BOY. during the pushing stage my poor boyfriend almost passed out 3 times. and i'm happy to say i did it all without pain meds and i didn't even tear!
since i was still nursing my first dd my milk was already in and little William didn't have to wait for his meal. i was the talk of the maternity ward, everyone was so shocked that i was going to tandem nurse. the lactation consultant had to keep telling everyone it was just fine. she was so impressed with me, she kept coming in and telling me if i had any problems at all to call her and to keep in mind that my older child still needs breastmilk and to keep it up as long as i could. all in all it was a great delivery. i'm not in nearly as much pain i was in with dd. just wanted to share and i will post picture soon!
