Need help with body butter recipe!

I make this luscious butter with shea butter, coconut oil, mango oil and infused olive oil. But - after a time it has been seperating - getting grainy and not the smooth frosting type consistency it starts out being. So I'm thinking I should add emulsifying wax ??? although I don't add water to the recipe. Any insights for me? Would that solve my problem? How much of a % should I use of the wax?

I use a combo of lemon EO and vanilla CO2 to the recipe and it is devine. I also use Rosewood and Lavendin EO combo to it for extra skin replenishing.

Thanks for your ideas!

No clue for your recipe, but I've had an excellent result with melting coconut oil and pure cocoa butter together. They haven't separated yet, and it smells gorgeous!

It melts right onto your skin and soaks in. The coconut makes the cocoa butter soft enough for easy use.

if you melt your shea butter or mango butter, you will probably get grains, thats the nature of those butters...the best thing to do is whip the shea and mango at room temp or at least only soften it...don't melt it at all....unless your mango is rock hard, then you may to melt that...if you do melt your butters, stick the bowl into an ice water bath to cool it rapidly. whip it as it's cooling in the bath. you can melt the coconut oil and olive together and then only add that to the other butters once it has completely cooled, but not solidified. HTH!
