ugh heartburn

Aaah nothing like spending the night I'm due with the worst heartburn ever...

Amazingly this pregnancy has been very heartburn free.. with dd I was in serious pain almost every night, which I think was from all the dairy consumption.. it started very eary in my preg. w/her...

So she has a dairy allergy (go figure) and I've been dairy free for 2 years with the exception of recently... and last night we went out for a yummy dinner of mexican that was loaded with more dairy than I've had in months..

And here I am, wide awake at 4am, doing dishes and laundry and chatting online because htere is no way I can sleep like this, even upright in my chair with my blanket.. at least the laptop is keeping me warm!

There are no OTC meds in the house, I tossed all the Tums when we moved 2 months ago because I didn't need them... and the papaya enzymes aren't nearly enough right now.

So I'm just whining and babbling to myself... and waiting on this babe to show!

I've been up several times at 4 am but that's just because I'll be wide awake and not want to go lie down on my side some more. I cannot wait to sleep on my belly or back--my hips are killing me!!

Something that's worked for heartburn for me is to put a drop of Peppermint Essential Oil (I use Young Living...their oils are trustworthy) in a glass of water and drink it down. It's refreshing and takes away the heartburn within 20 minutes or so.

Of course, I try to prevent heartburn by avoiding dairy, sugar, etc.
