Xavier James was born at home on February 1st, 2007
8 lbs, 8 ounces and 21 inches long after 7 hours of early labor, 7 hours of active labor and 14 minutes of pushing.
This birth was extremely healing for me. I had my DS #1 via c-section 13 months ago, and everything about my experience with him for labor and delivery was terrible. I was labeled the classis "failure to progress". And if you've ever been labeled that, you know there's emphasis on "failure" in your mind.
Xaviers birth was perfect. It was everything I could have ever hoped for and more. I had 2 midwives and a doula, and Xavier was born in my bedroom, in our home, into the hands of his mother instead of a stranger. I no longer feel like a "failure" or as if my body failed me.
I birthed my baby.
