we're looking for containers to put our fruits and veggies in that will extend their life. i know of the baggy type but are there tuberware type containers? we hate plastic, though. yes, we're just too picky.

It really depends on the fruit or veggie. Are there any in particular you are concerned with?

not so much carrots or celery because we use those quickly as with apples and oranges but for berries and especially salad makings (romaine hearts, spinach, etc etc), tomatoes, bell peppers, broccoli and cauliflower, etc etc.

Really, the best thing I've found so far are those Evert-fresh bags. I bought a set of reusable grocery bags and it came with a package of the bags. I LOVE them! I never would have believed them to work if I hadn't used them myself.

Actually, now that I think about it, my salad spinner does a great job of keeping my romaine fresh and crispy for over a week.

Although they are plastic, they have some solutions at http://www.reusablebags.com

It's a great site, informative, and they sell great stuff. They also have super fast shipping, FWIW.

Spastica posted a link to some nice glass containers for produce a month or so ago, I wonder if you could try a search for glass containers and find that thread?
