Facial Cleanser

Does anyone know of a really good natural facial deep cleanser? Something that will really get down into my pores and clean really well? Oh, and also maybe a good exfoliator? I'm sick of all the chemical filled products. They don't work and are generally too harsh!

Kirk's castile soap. My mom used is as a teen in the '50s and recently found it again in drug store or grocery store or something.

If your after something from your own kitchen then this website will help a lot. I haven't used the the facial items as yet but I have used a lot of her recipes for in the home & they are great! I'm actually looking forward to trying some of the facial recipes myself, I just need to use up what natural ones I have already. I like the idea of knowing exactly what's in them.

For really deep cleansing I give myself a castor oil facial (while taking a luxurious long bath) and then just wash that off with my preferred soap.

Haven't really got the hang of exfoliating yet though. Day to day I wash with honey, which so far keeps it okay.

Honey is great for washing especially if you have dry skin or acne. Also if you find a cleanser you like just add some baking soda to the cleanser in your hand and you have an exfoliant. Do that about 2 times a week. Also Miessence http://orderhere.mionegroup.com/MainSite/Index.aspx has a great facial scrub, garnet exfoliant. I have been thinking about trying a cleanser from http://avalonorganics.com/?id=80&pid=360 if you google it you can sometimes find better prices from other websites. Be careful with bar soaps they can be a little drying and that isn't good if you have clogged pores or blackheads. If your skin feels tight after you wash it you cleanser is to drying. Although you should use a moisturizer you shouldn't feel like you absolutely need one because your face feels so tight. HTH

I was just turned on to using baking soda (as an exfoliater) to wash my face, and using diluted (50/50) apple cider vinegar with water as a facial toner. Occasionally, I'm using a honey mask, then I add bs, scrub, rinse, then the ACV toner. I had TONS of blackheads, and some acne. It's been about a week and a half, and I AM IN LOVE!!! I didn't have to spend an extra cent to try this, and it is working so well. The blackheads have almost completely cleared, and the acne is GONE!! I just got some coconut oil today to use as a moisturizer - I am so excited!

I was going to say the 50/50 apple cider vinegar and distilled water as well. It really gives my face the fresh feeling. I also really like a mask of yogurt and honey maybe once a week, sometimes I mix in clay as well. It makes me feel like I've gotten a deep clean.
