So far it's going really well. My dh was able to take off the first week, and the older kids have been incredibly helpful and sweet. They all really pampered me that first week which allowed me to recover nicely, and now I'm feeling strong enough to be doing more, and we're slowly settling into a routine.

As far as life with a newborn goes, Abby just seems to blend so easily into our family. It seems with each additional child that the transition with a newborn is a bit smoother. "I've" had some feelings of sadness for my 21mo, but she seems totally fine. It's more just me feeling like she's still my baby, and like I'm missing babying her as much as I want to... if that makes sense. Her older sisters have been bathing her, feeding her, and putting her down for naps. I'm so thankful for their help, and they truly enjoy "mothering" her, but I'm kind of missing doing it. I know in a few weeks I'll be getting stronger and stronger and will be back to my old self, but it's kind of hard in the meantime. My 21mo is just great, though. She adores her baby sister and has seemed nothing but happy, well adjusted and content. She's been really gentle with the baby and seems interested somewhat but then is content to get down and play and do her own thing. I haven't detected the least bit of jealousy yet, and hopefully I won't. It helps so much to have older siblings that give the little ones plenty of attention when Mama can't.

So, that's the long winded version of how life is with seven kids. It won't be long at all till you can let me know how it's going for you! I'm thinking of you as you're in labor and praying for a smooth labor/delivery.
