in arizona you just need to fill out a withdrawl form. they do not need to know where your child is going here..

We've been down that road. I'm trying to remember what we had to do (Illinois).

I remember that it was kind of a big deal but only because the school knew us personally. My mil was a public school teacher and my aunt is a secretary in the schools. Plus my daughter has a IEP so that even raisied issues, but, after we told the school our plan to take her out, we had to call the district office and notify them of intention to homeschool. We may of had to sign a form. Other than that I think that was it. The worst part was dealing with relatives.

Well, I just showed them what I had and they made a copy. Then they had me sign an intent to homeschool form. That was it! But ds was crying cause he thinks he'll never see his friends again.

I am in Illinois as well and my dd went to public school for all of 4 days. I had to submit a letter of withdrawal stating I was homeschooling and yadda yadda yadda.
