I'm not about to let my kids eat Oreos or artificial colors just because they want to. They don't have all the information needed to make that decision or the self control to avoid eating toxic food that tastes good. I explain all about eating healthy foods but, honestly, I don't expect them to truly grasp that those yummy, sweet Oreos are killers! :

now I've got "Beauty School Dropout" in my mind...need to watch " Grease"
I haven't gotten all through her website yet, so haven't seen that point. I'm not what I would consider "radical", so I'm not about to allow my children free reign to Oreos and other unhealthy choices of food. I buy what we deem healthy and explain to our children why we make the choices we make.
When they go to friends houses for sleep overs or whatever that have "unhealthy choice foods" I simply let them know that other families make their own choices on foods. They either simply say "no thank you" to foods they know are unhealthy, or they will on their own limit how much they consume. I do warn the parents that my kids tend to react to artificial colors, flavors and refinded sugars and cow dairy, so they are aware of possible behavior health issues.
