About to take DS to the ER.

I’ve been sick since last night with chills, fever, sore throat, and body aches. DS must’ve caught what I have. He was up for two hours last night with night terrors and his screams were interrupted frequently with coughing so hard he could barely breathe. Today, he has a fever, chills, and wheezing. His ped’s office has no appointments available. STBX is bundling him up and meeting me at the ER.

I have NOT had a good week.

DS is doing much better, so we're not taking him to the ER. He stopped wheezing and his fever went down. I'm taking off of work early to go take care of him so his dad can go to work.

Great news. Those illnesses always get worse at night.

I'm glad to hear your son is feeling better.

I wanted to ask about your going to work if you are that sick though. Do you not have any sick days? It is not going to help you heal if you are working when your body needs to rest and, honestly, if I were working with you I would be extremely unhappy about you coming to work if you are that sick. I know it's difficult in many jobs to take that day off, but really you have to sometimes.

I'm in the military and I had a couple of commitments today. It's a lot more hassle to get a sick day when you're military than if you're a civilian. It's common to dope yourself up with Dayquil just to get through the day around here.
