Too Many Changes

Not sure if this belongs here, so my apologies if it doesn't.

I haven't had my baby yet, but he/she has dropped and could come any time now. As you all know, that's an adjustment in itself. But DH and I just found out we have to move into another apartment that we can barely afford, and I'll have to work as close to full-time as possible after the baby is born so we have enough to live on. I've been depressed throughout this pregnancy because of family issues, emotional stuff, our work/financial situation, and other things. And I'm afraid I'll have PPD and have it bad, since it feels like I'm already heading that way.

Does anyone have any ideas on how to adjust to all this and hopefully prevent PPD? I'd appreciate any thoughts!

there is such thing as pre-partum depression, and yes it can lead to ppd. but ppd can come out no where also. and some mamas that are depressed in pregnancy find that it goes away with the birth, our changes in some way. it doesn't mean you will have ppd, but it does put you at higher risk.

you do have a lot of stress in your life right now, coupled with hormones galore! do you talk to DH about how you are feeling? do you have friends, family or a therapist/counselor that you can speak with? if nothing else, you will know who to talk to and where to go should you feel like you have ppd after the birth.

are there any support groups in your area? feel free to use this forum (I believe you are in the right place) to journal and reach out. you may feel better just to know that you are not alone. i go to a support group weekly (there are usually a couple preg mamas there too) and the facilitator always says, "it's not your fault, you are not alone, and you will get better".
