I had a bad reaction to both Luvox and Effexor (didn't get past 1 pill for each, ended up in emerg with the Luvox, worst panic attack of my life, and the Effexor was just YUCKY YUCKY YUCKY....though my MIL takes Luvox and loves it). And the 5HTP seems to have given me NO side effects and a noticable improvement....up until recently I thought. May try it again though now that I've phased it out...when I feel I need to again. We'll see. I might be having anxiety for other reasons, I find it's seasonable, it usually starts just before spring or when spring comes....so maybe it's that.

Anyhow, I was wondering kaydee, that does work for you?

I have GAD, and I have taken 5-HTP, but my experience was not positive.
My doc called back today and called in Prozac for me. I just worry about another trip to the ER. I know I need something though. Today when dd was fussy, she is getting 2 teeth right now, I would get irritated with her crying and needing to be right next to me and me holding her. I know this is wrong to feel that way and I try to not let it get to me but, sigh, it is sometimes hard. Thanks for the personal experience sharing! Guess I may suck it up and try the prescription.

Hi Panicked!

If antidepressants dont help you and cause such reactions..please do not take them!

Have you tried Progesteron? Have you tried Saint Johns wort?
Here you can read what natural Progesteron is:

And read my links on 5htp+ Tyrosin:
Progesteron, 5htp and Tyrosin can help you

You should also check your thyroide and hormons! That is very important. Talk to your Gyn about it.

Bye, Blanca
